We’ve picked up some more information about those rumors on GCobb.com that the Philadelphia Eagles will make a move this week for Lions receiver Roy Williams.
The Eagles-based web site says that the Eagles, Cowboys, and Redskins are in the hunt for Williams.
On Monday, however, coach Rod Marinelli and CEO Matt Millen again said that Williams, who is entering the final year of his rookie contract, will not be traded.
As we hear it, the Eagles offered cornerback Lito Sheppard and a draft pick a couple of weeks ago, and the Lions flatly refused.
We’re also told that the Eagles have made inquiries regarding Bengals receiver Chad Johnson, to no avail. A media source thinks that Door No. 3 could be Cardinals receiver Anquan Boldin.
I think we could offer Devery Henderson and a number 5 for him but his name is not big enough. Look at the names you are talking about. Roy Williams, Chad Johnson, and Anquain Boldin, all former Pro Bowlers. Devery would be a good fit for the Eagles, but his name holds no weight in this game.
I think it would be great to make that trade assuming Robert Meachum takes the role of a #1 draft pick. If not then losing Devery Henderson would hurt our WR corps.
I respect you as a poster skippy, but please don't lead me to believe you are comparing Devery Henderson to the likes of Chad Johnson, Roy Williams, or even Anquan Boldin? Devery "stone hands" Henderson isn't even in the same neighborhood as any of these guys. I find it really hard to believe the Eagles would even take us serious if we were to offer them a deal like that. Nice try though.
it was actually one of those situations i threw something out there, and was expecting people to say, no that won't be feasible but how about this, kinda like a trade negotiation

How good is Shepp anyway? It seems he's been in quite a few talks but no body seems to want him. Is it because of his oft' injured status?
I personally like Devery Henderson but he may need a different coaching style to get him focused on catching. He's got speed and he's made some great catches, but he's dropped way too many "easy" catches too. I'm all for a trade with him & Lito.
henderson not enough .but i lke it..if it does we will take a wr probaly 3-5th rd.i have seen some drafts where we have taken a wr.in 2nd manningham-and hardy so it may be speculation in some MOCKS..I FOR IT HENDERSON HAS DROP ALOT OF WIDE OPEN PASSES
Skuppy if the Eagles wanted Devry Henderson they could have signed him to a free agent deal already. Remember Tampa Bay offered Devry more money and a longer deal that he turned down to re-sign with the Saints. I truly think Cincy will get rid of Chad Johnson and the Eagles seem to be the logical spot for that to happen.
According to reports i have seen or read, the Lions turned down the Eagles offer for Williams, the Bengals turned down an offer for Johnson and the Cardinals turned down an offer for Boldin, all the offers included Lito Sheppard and draft pick or picks depending on the player. Devry Henderson was a free-agent this year, he had an offer from Tampa Bay for a two year contract worth more than the Saints re-signed him for. So his trade value would be little to the Eagles. If they had wanted him bad enough, they could have jumped in and signed him as a free agent.
