Why do they have to wait till the 13th of May?!? Why not tomorrow...I know the draft is coming up, maybe it's to not disturb all the warboards teams have been setting up just in case the Pats have to forfiet another pick (doubt it anyways).
But more so, I just don't want to wait any longer. This whole incident is not just putting a black mark on the Patriots (which it already has), it's putting a black mark on the integrity of the NFL. A few months ago even a member of the federal government got involved, and he has by every right to do so concerning the antitrust laws in this nation that protect against monopoly's but also allow certain businesses to exist as pretty much a monopoly (like the NFL is) because the talent pool for such a product is so slim, having any more elite pro leagues would just thin it out so much more, it would really lessen the quality of the games. Considering the level at which some teams play, though not regularly but there's always a few every year that just flat out suck, that would be a horrible thing for the NFL.
I don't know about the rest of you, I want this to just end. Find out what's going on, deal with it, and move on. Patriots fans, sorry but people won't just let it go when there is stuff out there in question, or supposedly I should say is out there. You won't stop hearing about it for a long time, it'll slowly diminish, but it'll always be there. Deal with it. They still have 3 rings from the deal, that's a really good bargain if you ask me. To those who hate the Patriots, I know you want them to suffer and all that, but what I stated above is true, and this could really hurt the entire NFL, not just the Patriots. That means the team you love could also suffer from this, I know for sure that I don't want that.
Get the supposed tapes, figure it out, deal with it, and let's play some F****ING FOOTBALL!!!!
Go Steelers.

That is the question isn't it.Why did it take four months to grant Walsh immunity which could have been done immediately? Notice the gag rule on Walsh talking to third parties.Hmmm.Notice it is taking place in the middle of May,the dead zone when football is out of the headlines.Notice Goodell destroyed earlier tapes that the NFL had in their possesion.I will be shocked if Goodell doesn't make this all go away.

I'm sure something will be released from it, but it won't make everybody happy. But ask yourself this...would you rather have something slightly come out, have the Patriots take another slap on the wirst and some of their monthly allowance suspended a bit? Or...would you rather something huge come out, not enough done about it, and then the federal government coming down hard on the NFL...remember, the NFL has contract coming up in a couple years with television networks, and they are always subject to review along with the actual presence of the NFL itself but the U.S. Antitrust laws...I seriously don't want to see professional football all suffer because of one team and one man's mistake (and yes, before you even say it Patriots fans...they all do it, we heard it a million times...guess what, only one of them got caught)

PA4life...C'mon. "slap on the wrist." A first round draft pick, is not a slap on the wrist. ($$ is irrelevant) Suspending BB for a year would have been a slap on the wrist and less controversial. Don't worry, if the NFL feels wronged by BB, they will make him pay, again. But hopefully they punish him and him alone (via suspension), if they feel cheated or misled. As you know things can easily get misinterpreted. Hehe.

To tell you the truth PA4life I don't think the senator had any right to get involved. He was just looking for publicity. I wouldn't care if he hadn't used our dime to finance it.
The NFL doesn't have a monopoly either, you have the CFL and Arena football currently. Over the last few decades you've had several leagues form up but were not able to compete (like the USFL (i think that's right) in the 80's and the joke that was the XFL in the 90's). Also you have minor league style football in many cities across the country.
Either way, antitrust laws really have never applied to sports so the good Senator from PA had no business going after the commish on this one. It was just a tasteless publicity stunt and it only added fuel to the fire and made it all worse for those of us who are sick of hearing about it.
The only way this will go away is if we all stop caring about it and move on. That doesn't seem to be happening so we're stuck with it for a while.

The black mark is on the NFL because of how Goodell handled it when he got more evidence. If he would have done a full investigation, as promised, back in September, we wouldn't be talking about this now.
Do you think MLB would have survived the "Black Sox" scandal, if the Commisioner of MLB back then, would have tried to sweep that scandal under the carpet. I highly doubt it. If he had not taken the actions he did, although extreme, baseball would have become a joke. No one would have went to the games, because they would think they were fixed. But since he expelled everyone who was invovled with gambling and fixing baseball, it kept it's integrity. Even to this day, anyone invovled in gambling is banished from MLB.
The NFL decided to ignore it rather then deal with it. Because of this, everyone is questioning the integrity of the game. Now I'm not saying banish the Pats from the NFL (but I bet Manginia, Buffalo and Miami are) but they must do something to restore the integrity again. If this tape is what Walsh says it is, then Goodell need to do a real investigation with harsh consequences. If it's not, then let go on with football. Unfortunately for New England, their 2001-2004 seasons will always be looked at as a smudge in the NFL. Just like the 1919 White Sox and Steroids are a smudge on MLB

The NFL doesn't have a monopoly either, you have the CFL
You do realize the the CFL stands for the CANADIAN Football League. You do know that our Anti-Trust laws only over see AMERICAN companies. Since the CFL is not an American Company and the NFL is the only PROFESSIONAL Football league in AMERICA, it makes it a MONOPOLY!!! Arena football is not Pro-Football. Just wanted to clarify that.
And a Senator has every right to revisit a company that has immunity to the Anti-Trust laws. Those companies should be looked at, especially if they are compromising their integrity.

Do you know what the Anti-Trust laws say? if not, how would you know that a multi-billion dollar industry that owns the rights to a sport should not fall under the Anti-Trust laws. Isn't that why they were written? So one Company/Corporation could not corner the market and corrupt their product/service or charge unreasonable prices for said product/service?
How much is a jersey? $70-100 and it costs $5-10 to make in Mexico, Thailand, China, or where ever.
How much is a NFL ticket? The prices I just saw last week in Philly were $150-$350.
Do you have to purchase programming to see the games on TV? Maybe not Sunday, but Monday and Thursday you have to pay for a package that includes ESPN and NFL Network.
Your right, they should just let companies do as they please with their monopolies, and if it gets out of hand, how cares. Becomes corrupt, big whoop. Becomes so expensive only the wealthiest people in that city can see them, oh well.......... I guess I'll just watch another game from another league.
But wait, THERE ARE NO OTHER LEAGUES!!!!!
Elfboy, please remove your head from your a$$, slowly noe, I wouldn't want you to tear anything!!!
