How will the Cougars new offense fare?  Has anyone had a chance to see this no huddle offense run either at Eastern Washington or bend down to see any of the scrimmage.  I for 1 am excited to see a change in the whole offense of philosophy.  I am looking forward to a bumpy road but also the possibility of an exciting one.

Go Cougs

DWIGHT TARDY will tear it up this year!!! Thats all that matters. He is the most underrated back in the nation. If he stays healthy the whole year, look for big things. DT and Brandon Gibson lets do it guys!!!

I don't have inflated expectations for this year. I really like Coach Wulff's philosophy toward the game; but, I understand this year is going to be tough. I wish I knew more detailed information about Eastern's offensive the past few years so I had an idea of what to expect for us this year, however, I a big fan of the pace of no huddle, coaches moving up from success in D-II (like Tressel) and Cougar coaches quoted saying, "I hate purple. Dogs bark and bite, but Cougars hunt and kill."

I agree with everything you're stating there there are inflated expectations.  It is always difficult to completely change an offense but if this is like the Buffalo Bills offense from the grand years it could be exciting.  Always loved to have coaches who have a deep rooting hatred towards the dawgs

I haven't seen the offense but I am a huge supporter of Wulff and I'm extremely confident that he will get things going for us again... eventually.  This year with the poor recruiting class and the new style/coaching staff (and also not having alot to start with from last year) I'm not expecting much at all.  All I can legitimately hope for is that we beat the poodles and don't finish dead last in the conference.  All that being said, the future looks bright for us though...

I actually saw them play against BYU. They put some points on the board, but this may get really ugly for a year or two. It doesn't matter though. We are Cougs not Huskies so we won't jump off the bandwagon when things are down. I think Wulff can turn it around. A lot of this is going to depend on the Defense he installs. GO Cougs!

I saw a few Eastern games last year, and I can tell you, the no-huddle makes for a great game to watch. Less down time in-between plays = more action = great football. How well this system will work at WSU? There are only guesses... I am optimistic though.

One thing that can work both for and against Wulff in this situation is that in Pullman, we take our football very seriously.

Amen to that! I like it. I think it will translate well to the PAC10 and translate to more wins and a better quality athletes who want a shot at playing in a good program and eventually in the NFL. We have a proud tradition as Cougars.  The biggest thing the no-huudle does is it keeps defenses from sending in special packages and fresh bodies for each series or down. It evens the playing field so to speak. As a sidenote, what that does mean for us is that our offenses' conditioning is going to have to be near the top of the PAC10.

I agree with you that we do take our football very seriously, but we have also shown that we can be patient and wait for a team and coaching staff to develop. I think Wulff is a great hire and will help us return to greatness.
