Is there a third baseman capable of hitting 20 HRs out there who a team might trade for a package of Winn and Zito, with the Giants eating some of Zito's contract? Hell, the Giants could throw in a lifetime supply of Anchor Steam beer too. Could we get one that could hit 10 HRs?

Not a chance.  We would have to eat a ton of Zito's contract and some of Winn's (who is also overpaid).  And there is no way we get back anything valuable from them.  The only hope for either to be traded is Winn gets hot and we trade him at the deadline to a contending team w/ an injury and we eat some of the contract.  Otherwise, both stay around, and especially Zito, who is going to be almost impossible to move unless he returns to at least his 2004 form and the pitching market continues to skyrocket.

Nobody would take Zito no matter how much the Giants paid, NOBODY!  The Giants are stuck with him so lets all PRAY that he can turn it aroung and make himself respectable.

EXACTLY. It would literally take a miracle for him to be worth anything. Winn maybe but Zito NO WAY. Putting Zito in a trade right now would be an insult to most if not all teams plus the Giants would lose way to much on the deal anyways with Zito's contract being only in the 2nd year of it.

I understand the frustrations fellow Giants fans, but how come Randy Winn catches so much grief, but have not seen really one word about Ray Durham. I still have faith in all the Giants, it is only April, but Ray has to step it up or he could be more likely to go than Winn.

im not sure but wernt we saying the samething about a pitcher we had last year, who was pretty well over paid? then Sabean made the deal that sent Matt Morris and his entire contract to the Pirates....do i really think anyone will take Zito? probably not.  and considering where we are at if we do trade anyone we are going to want young prospect in exchange...unfortuanly Zito is gonna be here for a while longer, but remember, there are worse teams with stupider GM's out there, so never say never
