You obviously won't get any arguments from people on this board about who is the greatest announcer in professional sports. Vin Scully all the way... and biology has proven as we get older, we start to lose our edge( I guess that's the word I would use) and we aren't as in tune or as sharp as we were when we were younger..You can't argue that. People have occasionally mentioned that Vinny isn't as sharp or as smooth as he used to be... and as much as we don't want to see our heroes start to lose what was so special about them, it's inevitably a fact of life that happens as we age...That being said...for those of you who watched the Dodger broadcast last night on Prime Ticket.... I thought Vinny was in great form...

He was awesome last night....he really seemed to step his game up...He was on point with his game calling and his analysis...his stories from his past were relevant and correlated with what was going on in the game...There is no man on the planet who does such a great job of using his vast baseball life experiences and infusing them into that night's game and making it relevant. There is no man who clearly makes me feel that from 50 years ago to now...despite all the issues and the enhancements and the technology that has happened...baseball, the actual game....isn't that much different now than it was when he first started... and the kicker...

Vinny made me laugh my butt off last night....he hasn't done that in quite some time...he's made me smile and think about the good old days...he's made me sit on the end of my seat...but he hadn't made me laugh as hard as I did at a baseball game in quite some time.... For those of you who didn't watch,,, I think it was the Top of the Eighth inning, and Chris Young of the Diamondbacks struck out for the fourth time in the game against Jonathan Broxton... Vinny was kind of laughing to himself as Young was walking back to the dugout...then he said...yeah he struck out for the fourth time..but it's kind of hard to feel to bad....you just signed a five year contract....Is that the funniest thing I've ever heard...absolutely not...but comedy more than anything is about timing...and that was a well said and well timed little joke...and it just capped off what was a wonderful evening of Dodger baseball.

Go Dodgers....lets beat these DBacks

I agree, we have truely been blessed here in Los Angeles with Vin Scully (Dodgers), Chick Hearn (Lakers), and Bob Miller (Kings). Those guys were and have been in another league for several decades. One day they will all be gone and missed.

Vinny is the man. My girlfriend did not enjoy baseball at all (on tv) when i first met her 5 yrs ago. Now doesnt mind one bit. I believe it is the Vinny who makes us feel like we are back home. I hope we take this series.

Vinney is the best.  He is the only reason to listen to a Dodger game since the Dodgers are not competative.
