It seems pretty odd in a situation with Jason Witten for Anthony Fasano.

Akin Ayodele is was expendable when Anthony Spencer was drafted.

It sure is a better move for the Dolphins.  Fasano will be productive in the passing game to give Beck a check down option.  Also Ayodele gives the Dolphins a solid player and more depth at LB.  Giving up a 4th round pick for proven guys is good.  I mean, who knows if that 4th round pick would have paid off.

Very good move. Both of these players have a reputation for making plays on third downs and obviously thats very important. As a Redskins fan, I've had plenty of opportunity to see Akin Ayodele in action and I've thought for the past 3 years thats he's the most underrated LB in the NFL. He's extremely quick and a damn good cover guy. He can rush the passer and cover. He did play sparingly in Dallas, so maybe his inspired play was due to him always being rested, but everything I've seen from this guy since he's been in the league is good. Fasano has also been a great role player making key 3rd down conversions for the boys the past two years. Great deal for Miami. Parcells is certainly turning this team around, the jury is still out on whether these moves will pan out. I think the moves hes made have been good, but not great.

Good for both teams? This trade is so much better for the Dolphins than the Cowboys. The Dolphins are getting two starting caliber players for a 4th round pick when Fasano was a 2nd rounder two years ago? If Witten or Zach Thomas go down (which is highly likely with Thomas) the Cowboys will regret this trade. And what did drafting Spencer have anything to do with Ayodele. Spencer plays both OLB positions while Ayodele plays ILB. If you're playing a 3-4 the last thing you want to do is trade away proven depth in your LB corps. Bad trade for the Cowboys from my perspective.

Could the Cowboys be clearing out some cap space for a move up the board tomorrow?

Just thinking out loud here.

Well we can see YOU don't know what YOU are talking about.  Nothing about the drafting of Spencer said ANYTHING about Ayodele.  They play two diffrent positions. What your "pretty odd" comment means who the heck knows.  But Ayodele got let go because his starting job is being taken by an 8 time ALL PRO.  Guess we will let you wonder who that is.  One guess...its not Speancer lol

Well we can see YOU don't know what YOU are talking about.  Nothing about the drafting of Spencer said ANYTHING whatever about the future of Ayodele.  THEY PLAY TWO DIFFRENT POSITIONS. lol  and what the heck you meant about 'pretty odd' who the heck knows.  Ayodele lost his job because it will be man by an 8 time ALL PRO.  One guess as to who that is - here's a guess  - Its not Spencer.

Uh  hey Skrib,

I really don't see how the Dolphins totally make out on this like you seem to think. Yes they get two solid guys in Fasano and Ayodele. However it does not hurt thier depth at all. Even if Zack goes down they have Carpenter and Kevin Burnett(who if you ask me should have been starting over Ayodele anyways) So the Cowboys didn't really give up any depth at LB. And what a lot of people don't know is that behind Fasano is little known Tony Curtis waiting in Whittens shadow. His 3 catches last year where all for touchdowns. And in the preseason the guy was a monster. He will be a very good back up should anything happen to whiten.

And the Cowboys get their 4rth round pick back they used on getting Pac man hopefully fililng a need there(fingers crossed). Actually they moved up from their spot near the end of the 4th to the very beginning of the 4th. And no one really thinks about the 4th round but there have been some real steals there for the Cowboys as of late. Such as Marion Barber and Chis Canty (the most underrated DE in the league)Guy is a monster and no one has heard of him. But the Cowboys 3-4 wouldn't work without him. D. Ware wouldn't be the beast he is with ought Canty taking up 2 o-lineman and causing havoc inside every down.

tracy--hope you're right (and you sound like you might be) but i liked both players we gave up and a 4th can go either way--boom or bust or journeyman--of course so can a 1st. at least the two we gave up were of journeyman status minimum
