No one plays defense in the NBA, so why not take the money on that level if all you can do is score? The NBA is horrible ...

i agree that the majority of players don't play defense. Having said that the best teams (spurs, celtics, detroit (supposedly), utah) play defense and especially the best players like duncan, billups, kg, even kobe.

No defense in the NBA? What a sham comment. Open your eyes and

watch the NBA, especially premier defenders like Bruce Bowen who STOPS

Steve Nash .......flat........even though, sometimes, he also decks him

into the 3rd row.

The players who are GREAT in the NBA are ALL DEFENDERS. Name one GREAT player who

is not a hustle defender and I will show you a guy who, guess what, is NOT GREAT.

Dirk Nowitzki is probably your first case. However, he is NOT GREAT. Repeat..DIRK is NOT GREAT.

And, he foes, for him, try. But he just doesn't have the strength to play tough D.

ANyone else, they HAVE TO BE GOOD to play on top tema.

Don't have to agree.

Just name an NBA champ since 1990 which didn't play great team defense.??????

Time is up. Can't name one. Period. End of argument.

Nash was decked by Robert Horry, not Bruce Bowen last year.  Bowen is a dirty player, though, so you were mostly right.

The Miami Heat won a couple of years ago and were only OK defensively, not great.

If the Lakers win this year, are they great defensively?

I'm only 32 years of age, yet I remember the glory days of the NBA.  Larry Bird, Magic Johnson.  What happened?   I can't stand to watch NBA basketball.  It's turned into all about the individual.  Who can score the most,  who can get the most rebounds, who gets the most time on the floor.   I thought basketball was a team sport.  I guess things have changed.  It's all about offense.  Where, why, and most of all how did this happen?  And we have thugs as in NBA basketball players that we turn into idols.  Why????  No wonder NBA ratings have gone down in recent years.  Am I the only one that wants to see players play for their team and not worry about how many points they score.  How about seeing players that play to win for their team and not worry about their stats.  I guess I'm the only one that would love to see a Larry Bird Or a Magic Johnson emerge.  They didn't care about money, they helped their team.  Until that day happens I'm going to be a college basketball fan, because those kids play to win for their team not for money.  I hate what the NBA has become.

Anybody who thinks nobody in the NBA plays defense doesnt watch the NBA. Please. Watch the playoffs and tell me there is no defense being played. Look at the scores of the Celts-Cavs series. Put down the Hockey, and take a couple of hours to watch. It aint bad.
