These guys are right. It depends to some degree on where you live.  Those near Columbus definitely feel it is Auburn..the deep South's oldest rivalry.  But in a sense, Auburn is like cousins.  We fight but most fans on both sides have a mutual respect.  They hate Bama and we hate Tech and the Gators.  Folks up in Dalton probably would say Tennessee and maybe some folks around Augusta would lean to either Clemson or S. Carolina.

I think it is still Tech.  We have won 7 in a row, but we have to live with them.  If we start losing, that would be painful.  I think Florida is right there with them.  Rival states and they have had the better of it for the last 18 years.

I guess you could say we are surrounded by "bad guys"....Tennessee just to the North, Clemson on our eastern border, the Gators to the South, Auburn on our Western border and the Yellow Jackets in Atlanta.

Now I know that didn't help, but I would say Tech and then Florida.

Speaking of South Carolina, that has turned into a mild rivalry as of late, but that is mainly due to wanting to beat Spurrier.  I was surprised to find out though that a lot of South Carolina fans consider Georgia to be one of their biggest rivals, other than Clemson.  I didn't know South Carolina thought about Georgia like that until then.  Maybe because they have never won the East.

UGAFan618,

They can't stand us.  Naturally Clemson is it for them, but they have had such a long series with the Dawgs and have really been on the short end of most of it.  I can remember going to games at Williams Bryce when they were terrible, but they would have bet you the farm that the Gamecocks were going to kick our butts.  I will say this....they have some of the most loyal fans you can ever imagine.   Maybe even dillusional.

ASU fans, I know that the ASU and Arizona rivalry is really big and from what I understand getting hotter with Dennis Erickson's success and the struggles of Mike Stoops in Tucson.  I realize your PAC 10 rivalries are pretty clear cut...maybe because geographically you are in a lot bigger area.  Still, I suspect with the improvement made last year, you have to start looking at the Trojans as a potentially big rival too.

Arizona will always be our biggest rival, as a result of the geography.  Same with USC-UCLA, Stanford-Cal, etc.  Other smaller rivalries spring up within the conference depending on who is dominant at the time, as I'm sure it does in the SEC.  We need to beat USC to really build up that rivalry.  It's been building over the last 5 years now, but it's been too one-sided to get really big.

As an ASU fan and graduate stuck livng in the state of Georgia, I can't wait for the game.  I'm looking to head out there for the fist time in 15 years to attend the game and was wondering if any ASU fans had any ideas on ways to obtain decennt tickets at reasonable prices - the UGA fans are really pushing up prices and I'm trying to avoid sitting withtem at the top of the stadium.   Thanks and GO DEVILS!!!

UGAfan16 is right about South Carolina. One of the other threads was about who had the most dillusional fans. Everybody was voting for Ohio State but they at least have something to justify their beliefs. South Carolina football is a disaster but every year they swear this is the year they're going undefeated and kick our butts. Sometimes they win but sometimes a blind hog finds an acorn too. I live in Augusta and I have to put up with they year round. They're nuts.

I'm thinking about making the trip to the game. Any hotel suggestions? I want something nice and it really doesn't matter what it cost its only for a couple of nights.

Well it's official, ABC has picked up the game.  It will be 8:00 P.M. Eastern, 5:00 P.M. local Arizona time.

The dawgs did well against Hawaii with their explosive defense. The Pac-10 is very underated and I believe this will be a close win for the devils routing the dawgs 17-14. Go Devils!!

17-14. Go Devils!!Dude, by no means am I saying you shouldn't pick your team, but that sure as hell won't be the score.  In ASU's three games vs. NFL drafted running backs, you gave up an average of 43.7 points per game and lost all three.  What do you think Knowshon will do?

I hate to say, I must agree with my fellow Dawg, ATL, as I question ASU's front line. How many sacks was that last year? The one thing UGA will have is depth on the defense and if ASU has any chinks in the armor they will get exploited by our blitzes and multiple player rotation throughout the D.

As for our Offense, where to start. Well, heck, let's just say I hope ASU has depth on defense, speed and players as that is what it is going to take to slow down UGA, even in Tempe.

My early prediction, 3 sacks, an interception or two, due to pressure, 200 yards rushing and over 200 yards passing.

41-13

It could be a good game, I just see UGA coming in and taking care of business, no offense, and really not being a biased homer. Afterall, it is just an opinion.

And as if it matters, graduated HS at Apollo High.... you Phoenix folk should know where that is, though I graduated there back in 1981, boy how times have changed out there. My old school isn't anywhere near the school it once was.

Y'all take care and best of wishes with the season.
