The Patriots should pick up Dominic Rhodes, who was just released by the Raiders.  He has always been an effective RB, with Indy Colts and Oakland.  He has averaged better than 4 yard per carry when given consistent playing time.  The Pats need a durable RB like Rhodes since Maroney is injury prone and Sammy Morris is coming off injury.   Dominic Rhodes would provide better insurance than Morris to Maroney.   Also, Morris and Kevin Faulk are not getting any younger.
