These message  boards are a great place for differing and opposing points of view to come together and exchange ideas and information.

However, there is a line, which is not so fine, at which opposition or even antagonism crosses into obnoxious, aggressive disruption.  Why doesn't CBS Admin police this situation more astutely?   There seems to be no hesitation to cleanse the boards of those whose choice of individual words is questioned, but no apparent effort to control those whose message and intent is purely disruptive and hateful.

Jeers to you, CBS, for your head-in-the-sand approach to this issue.  You've heard this complaint  voiced many times and continue to do the absolute minimum, to be gracious to your 'efforts.'

Will you rise to the challenge of the issue, or continue along the same superficial, inconsistent path?

D & H - I believe they don't police it more astutely because they like the hits this creates and therefore is a bargaining chip for them with sponsors. That is just a theory of mine but I really can't think of another reason they wouldn't police it more. I usually just ignore the elementary school type threads & posts and move on. When a child feels they're being ignored they usually go on to something else. I'm guessing that's why CBS Admins take the stand they do agiants these types, IMO. Unless of course some of the Admins are actually Trolls themselves. I have no proof of that but I have read posts that have brought up that suggestion...bluejay

I ignore them, too, bluejay.  It is just annoying and tiresome to have a good exchange going on a thread, and then the first troll shows up and there goes the thread.

They are like jackals.  The first one brings the rotten smell of carrion, and the rest can't resist their favorite odor.

There seems to be no hesitation to cleanse the boards of those whose choice of individual words is questioned, but no apparent effort to control those whose message and intent is purely disruptive and hateful.

Take a gander at the Sports Spa & JLK threads for a great example of hateful posters that not only attack people but hack your a/c, get your real name & make an offensive screen name out of it. CBS removes their posts but not THEM. I guess they gave up b/c the trolls got a arsenal of names & come back 5 min later. Theres got to be a solution but what?............

That sounds like a Jay Z lyric.

Oh those little trolls. They are the ones who's mommy and daddy stuck them in front of the TV and paid little to no attention to them. Threads are the only way for them to get the negative attention they long for. Brings them back to their childhood. We need a block ID button or ignore button, to keep the trolls we are sick of seeing out of our pages.

This is a Troll that was captured on another thread I was on. I think they took him to a big farm in the country and let him go.

It only took 2 hours and 44 minutes for the first jackal to arrive, and then only 4 minutes for the next to follow the scent.

The surprising thing is that they so readily identify themselves.

I think they make this board interesting.  Ever since CBS removed the "zero wars", trolls have't been half as bad as they use to be.
