I'll give the boys a b+ or an a- and please do not bash our new TE. I bet they had him locked when we shipped off Fasano to Miami. The A&M product is our hybrid receiver.
2 rb's 2 cb's & a TE/receiver - I think we addressed our needs really well and the defenses we will face should fear us more now. Welcome to the two TE or 4 wide sets - GO Cowboys

I would have given them an A- after the 1st day, but after day 2 I'd be reaching to say a C+.
I guess we should read into this draft the following:
Glenn will play. Stanback, Hurd and Austin must be progressing as a 3rd, 4th and 5th. Henry must be preparing to be a cover safety.
I wonder if our receiving corp is really showing that much promise, or this years WR class is really that mediocre.

I have to disagree with you. Dallas has addressed some of their needs but I think they really needed to add a WR and SS to the roster thru the draft.
So far the only pick I'm real happy with is Jenkins...actually I'm thrilled he fell to us he's a great CB. But they didn't pick him in the right spot.
Dallas should've drafted Jenkins at the #22 spot. We really need a WR, they should have picked Jordy Nelson at #28. In my opinion he's the best receiver in the draft....he's phenomenal and is going to be something special. Then they could have picked up a faster change of pace back in Jamal Charles with their 2nd RD pick.
I like Felix Jones but taken too high. I don't know much about the TE they picked. But he's big and apparently can block. They needed to add a solid blocking TE but they probably could have picked him up in later rounds. Choice is a decent RB ands adds depth but we have more pressing needs...WR & SS
So far I give Dallas B- at best

I like the Jenkins pick and the Choice pick. I guess the TE deal is better knowing he will be a hybrid and solid backup in case Witten goes down. Scandrick seems like he could be good on special teams which we are lacking severly and that DE/LB guy is a waste. Dont get me started on the Felix Jones pick. Mendenhall will make us pay this year when we see him in Pittsburgh. Mark my words. I dont want to give a letter grade. I havent calmed down enough yet.

B-
I really like the Jenkins pick. I didnt like Jones at 22. i dont think he would have fallen to us at 28 though. we still could have traded down a few picks and still gotten either Jones or Johnson. TE Bennett will be a good player for our single back look. I believe he used to be a WR so i'm going to say his hands are the issue. RB Choice is a between the tackles player that i like. Scandrick at CB i think wasnt a good pick. With Newman, Henry, Jones, Jenkins all at CB idk why they didnt hit a WR or backup QB here. Same with Walden. We have Ellis, Spencer, Capenter, Ware, James, Thomas, and Kevin Burnett.
I'm a homer so i'm not puting this in the C range, but who is our rookie difference maker? Who will make us a better team? Jones will play the most i'm going to guess, but he wont be a full time starter. Jenkins i believe could beat Henry out at CB but i doubt that will happen very soon. Bennett will play quite a bit too. But there wasnt a difference maker picked. No instant returns makes a teams draft average at best.

I do believe that JJ stated that they didn't think that the wr's in this years draft were the type that could come in a make a significant contribution. I like the Felix Jones pick and have been a proponent of him form the begining. The rap on Mendenhall was his consistency even in college. I will give tem an A- for the draft so far, I think that they have addressed their needs. I also think that Glenn will be back at full strength and that the young guys,(stanbeck, austin & Hurd) have probably make hurdles and are ready to go for this year.

I now like what we did in the first round with the pick of Choice in the 4th. This gives us alot more leverage in the Barber negotiations. I have heard from more than one location that Mendenhall has some attitude and motivational issues, and I believe this is why he dropped to where he did. Felix Jones has shown he plays well in a 2 back system, and I was worried about the pick that they were forced to sign Barber, then they go out and get Choice, a pick which I really, really like. Jenkins is the man, I am not sure there was a better corner in the draft, and I think he fits Dallas' system perfectly. I think you guys are being a little hard on the receiver front. If you looked at the receivers available, I think you have to agree that this class, while there was a high quantity of receivers, the quality sucked. I'm not really worried we didn't get a receiver, at this point anyway. I think Jerry, has alot of confidence in Sam Hurd and Stanback. There is no doubt TO has to stay on the field all year next year or we are in trouble, but I think that was the case whether we drafted a receiver or not. The area I am a bit upset with is they didn't address the safety position, but again, behind Phillips, this safety crop is fairly weak. We accumulated an extra 3rd and 4th in next year's draft for potential free agency issues due to the cap, so that was a good thing.
1st Round A++
2nd Round C(I would have liked to see a safety or DE here)
3rd Round N/A, lol.
4th Round A
5th Round B
6th Round D(I've never heard of this guy)
I would say a B+ for this draft. Would have liked to see a SS, or a DE I have heard of, but all in all I think they did ok, and acquired 2 more picks for next year's draft.

at first i didnt like the Felix Jones move but after reading the reports and hearing mendenhall didnt show great work ethic in practice until he got the starting position told me we got the right guy...listen this is going to be jason garretts second season as OC and with what he showes us last year we are able to open things wide open with our sets now with a young speedy back that give you flash and the most important thing make defenders miss.... something Julius Jones only showed signs of being able to do. so now we can have 2rb sets one bruiser and a speedster...and there is no way they will put a LB on Felix maybe not even a safety so that will open up better coverages for our WR's...and after looking on dallascowboys.com it looked like jerry jones got the players he sat out to get. i think the later round fiasco really came down to salary cap space and also set us up for next year to be able to make a splash....jerry jones already said he didnt want to draft a wr......i dont blame him i think it would have costed a little too much and i think isiah stanback with a year underneath him could be just as good if not better than most of those WR....so over all i give a solid A we got the personell we wanted in felix and jenkins and a nice tall TE in bennett...we filled what we needed and added quality depth at RB, CB and most importantly got some flash to our return game....thats huge considering i think our return game was horrible last year

I will give them an A- on the picks this year. JJ and Wade know what the team needs and they went after it. Maybe JJ has something in the works for a WR that is a veteran that is not being broadcasted yet. I would still like to Roy Williams from the Lions come on down to Big D and be a member of "America's Team". I too have been a big supporter of getting Felix Jones in the draft. IMO he is a better RB than Darren McFadden anyway.
