C-.  The first day was a A-/B+.  Owen Shmitt (FB WVU) Should have been taken in the fourth or fifth. H Back and Steeler prototype who breaks facemasks.  QB could have waited till next year.  A small Linebacker with injurty problems, not needed.  A "Finesse" Left Tackle with knee and foot injuries - no thank you.  Second Day sucked.  At least grab one freak of size or speed.

Ive got to give them an A on this draft. Mendenhall and Sweed are two great athletes that will contribute this year. It wouldve been nice to see us get a lineman that could contribute but it didnt work out that way and im extremely happy we didnt reach and draft a project lineman in rd. one or two just because it was a need. Hills could come in and be a good player if he stays healthy and becomes more consistent. He is an excellent pass blocker which is really what we need with the stable of playmakers we have. Dixon could develop into a more talented Slash than the one we previously had, i  mean he was a leading candidate for Heisman before he was injured. I dont know much about the Davis guy but he comes from a good bloodline. Humpal and Mundy will come in and help sure up a shaky special teams group. All in all I think they did an excellent job of taking the best available player and I cant wait to play some Madden '09 with Mendenhall and Sweed now in the black and gold;)

Wow!  I am not a Steelers fan, but after seeing your picks I wanted to let you know that your management has their heads on straight.  I have no idea what needs the steelers have, but your picks are as close to an all-american team that there is.  Congrats and good luck to you next year.

By far one of the best drafts there was. Mendenhall, Sweed and Davis are all STEALS.  Mendenhall brings back the tough running game and gives Willie a blow...Sweed can take a year to learn routes and get totally healthy while learning how to play tough from the man Hines Ward...and Bruce Davis is the next Freeney you can take that to the bank.  the guy has unreal speed and a motor that you can't find in most people.  the other three are all solid depth at positions that are solid, Steelers management gets an A in my book, we're baaaaaaaaaack!!!
