I'm going to go out on a limb and say I think his wife would care...or maybe even the feds since she was 15 at the time. But it doesn't matter anyway, he says he didn't do anything wrong and we all have to believe him right??? He was a great player and we have to all believe what great players say.
All I have to say about this is: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

It's news if he nailed her. I don't know how it would ever be proved either way, unless the mess that is McCready comes out and confirms it. She has her own credibility issues, so it might take more than that to demonstrate an inappropriate relationship.
However, I would say it is news at this point as it is just being uncovered. If the relationship was so pure and on the up-and-up, why is this the first time we are hearing of Roger's good deeds of mentoring the youth of America? This story stinks and there needs to be more investigation. And yes, Roger should take whatever steps are necessary to clear his name. After all, for him to simply deny it and have it go away doesn't hold water. He has lost enough credibility at this point that he needs come clean on the story, right or wrong. He lost his ability to ignore issues like this when Pettitte's testimony came out.

Seriously does anyone really care. It has just gotten to the point that no matter who you are there is dirt out there for someone to find. I can't believe the crap that you hear everyday. So is Elvis no longer the King of Rock N Roll because Priscilla was 14 when they got together. Roger Clemens, Barry Bonds, Mark McGwire, Sammy Sosa, and Rafael Palmeiro are all Hall Of Famers as far as I am concerned. And, for that matter, so is Pete Rose. He was a great hitter and player. He screwed up as a manager.

It's news because McNamee is being sued for defamation of character. So, he is looking to prove that Clemens is of poor character to begin with. The lower McNamee can convince the judge Clemens' character is, the loewr any potential damages against McNamee would be if he were to lose the case. The reason this is news is because of the suit Clemens filed.

If he had a sexual relationship with her after she was 18, then it's none of our business. People cheat on their spouses all the time and that's their business, not the public's. However, if they were having sex when she was under 18, then it's criminal and grounds for public knowledge. I hope for his sake he didn't do anything inappropriate. If he did, and it's proven, he's in a world of hurt. The punishment for lying to the feds will be the least of his worries. Then again, if the R Kelly statutory rape case is any indicator of how these trials move, Clemens would be six feet under by the time the trial began.

What I'm wondering is how many people who say they "don't care" about The "Great American Hero" chasing after jailbait ,are really just closet Clemens apologists who used the story of Mcnamee supposedly lying to police during a rape investigation to show that Ol' Rog was pure, innocent, and lilly white in terms of the mitchell report.....

We care, in as much as we care about any of this stuff, because if the story is true then it speaks to Clemens' character (or, rather, complete lack thereof). Since Clemens filed a Defamation of Character suit against Brian McNamee, the entire notion that Clemens could be defamed at all would fall apart if it came out that he had been cheating on his wife for so many years.
One note though: while I find the "close family friend" excuse somewhat laughable, I'd like to believe (little naive me) that their relationship did begin that way. Of all the ways to describe Roger Clemens -- liar, steroid abuser, mercenary, ego-maniac, blowhard -- never would I even think to add "statutory rapist".
I'd like to think that if, in fact, Clemens and McCready did engage in a sexual affair, that it was years into their "relationship" that it took place. Again, I wouldn't put anything past Clemens at this point, but even I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt on this one.

It said it started 10 years ago. If it was 17, then RC would be in some bigger sh@@ then he is now, because 10 years ago she was 15, 17 yrs ago she was 8.
It is only news because of how hard this country omes down on sex offenders and pedophiles. Clemens might be both now if it ever gets proven.

Kleaners: It is relevant, very relevant, since Clemens called McNamee's character into question by aledging that he had been charged with rape some number of years ago, and therefore, intimating that anything he had to say about Clemens should not be believed because of his shady background. So if that was relevant, then this is also relevant, since it is illegal to have a sexual relation with an underage person. If this allegation is true, Clemens could be chared with statutory rape, a charge that would be just as serious (in many peoples' eyes) as the one he brought up against McNamee. So, I guess the old saying about 'people who live in glass houses should not throw stones' holds true here. Clemens really should just disappear for a while and keep his name out of the news.

I find it amazing that when someone in a pro sport does one thing (in this case clemens roid suspicions) their whole life goes under the microsope. I agree with anyone who says it's none our business. Let Clemens and his family take care of it not the media.

I think that the issue should be looked into, considering McCready's age at the time they met. It will be very difficult to prove the type of relationship though, unless she claims it was sexual. What I wonder though, is why didn't we hear about this 5 years ago? Or even two years ago, prior to his name being in the Mitchell report. I'm not taking a side in the whole Clemens/McNamee war, but does anyone else think that Brian's lawyer may have a PI looking after Roger?
