Minnesota Vikings
Including the trade for Jared Allen prior to the draft which involved 3 Vikings draft picks, I would give the overall draft for Minnesota a B-.
The addition of Tyrell Johnson helps our secondary greatly and even though we added Madeiu Williams this offseason, I feel Tyrell can push for a starting spot in this secondary. Pick Grade: A-.
Drafting John David Booty hopefully brings some incentive to Tarvaris Jackson to step up his game or he could be out. However, the lack of arm strength will be a struggle for Booty. Although, his knowledge of the system will help him greatly. Pick Grade: C+.
Even though Pat Williams is getting up there in age, the Selection of Letroy Guion still confuses me. Minnesota needed a big, possesion reciever to compliment Bernard Berrian and the rising Sidney Rice. Pick Grade: C-.
Although he hasnt had much praise, the selection of John Sullivan makes perfect sense to me. Matt Birk is getting older and is one of the top Centers in the league, so Sullivan will have a great mentor in Birk and perhaps someday when Birk retires, he will have a great opportunity to start. Pick Grade: C.
The Vikings finally attempted to better their biggest need on offense, but it was, in my oppinion, too late. Jaymar Johnson was credited for his speed but Minnesota already has speed at the position, and remember what happened last time we drafted a reciever for speed? (See Troy Williamson) Pick Grade: C-.
