According to most Boston Fans, Pierce was going to come out and drop 40+ points on us tonight because of Al Horford’s taunting. He didn’t even score half of 40!

What happened to the youngest, most disrespected team in the NBA getting dominated? Atlanta only shot 23% from the arc while Boston shot a VERY respectful 52%, but we still found a way to beat them. Can we get some R.E.S.P.E.C.T. now?
Lets see…Joe Johnson went nuts tonight scoring 35 points (20 in the 4 th ) with Josh Smith beside him putting up 28 with 7 blocks (including a key block on your boy KG).

Oh and guess what? Horford still had 13 rebounds (which is more than anyone from the Celtics). Like I said two days ago when we beat Boston the first time, the Celtics better WATCH OUT. Don’t overlook us just because we have a young team and crappy coach. We are a team to be reckoned with.

We’ll see you all in Boston for game five. Get the popcorn ready and GO Hawks!

Uh, Celtics fans, I hope your team was not watching Mavericks highlights before getting ready for the playoffs. They should win at home, but they are making this interesting and also are wiping out the original premise that the Eastern winner would get to the finals pretty much rested. The Lakers are about to mop up their operation, and no matter the outcome of the Spurs/Suns, even if it goes six or seven, the Celtics getting pushed could even the odds.
(If the Lakers roll into the western conference finals, they would be the favorite, because they're playing better than the Celts right now).

Sorry about the thread guys. Here's how it's supposed to look:

I always knew Joe Johnson was good, but I never really saw him play at this level. I look forward to the rest of the series, it has proven to be much more interesting then I thought it would.

I'm not here to bash any team..........especially on of the caliber of the Celtics.

Just proud of my Atlanta Hawks..........As a fan that's been die-hard through the good and (mostly) bad of the Hawks. It's nice to see the franchise headed in a positive direction.

Joe Johnson, Josh Smith, Al Horford, Mike Bibby, Josh Childress, Marvin Williams, Zaza Pachulia, Acie Law

GO HAWKS!!! Larry Brown to be Pres. of B-ball operations and HEAD COACH next year!!!!!!

It's not about what happened to Boston. THe Hawks earned this victory, give them credit for it.

It's not that the Celts are giving this away, ATL actually has great talent on that team, they are earning these wins not having it handed to them. It's sad in a way that Joe Johnson is playing in ATL cause hed be superstar in a bigger market. THen you have Marvin Willliams, Josh "block everything in sight" Smith, Horford, Childress, Bibby, and even Acie Law and Pachulia....THats a damn good team that a lot people MUST stop overlooking.

Not to mention, the Hawks matchup well with Boston when you think about it. Bibby is one of the few PGs that can overcome Rondos long armed defense. Horford and Smith matchups incredibly well athletically with Garnett and Perkins. Marvin Williams has the ability to take Paul Pierce on O and D, I believe. Then with Childress being the wild card scorer and defender, you have a team that is built to beat the Celtics.

D West youre right on the money. When CBS posted the story about Paul Pierce gietting fined the Celtics fans posted in droves talking about how Al Horford was an idiot and how the Celtics were going to blow the Hawks out of the building by 30 or 40 points.

Now I admit I thought it was possible for the Celtics to win Game 4 but no way are they going to beat a playoff team on the road by 30 points in the playoffs. One guy precited the score would be 118-79, a 39 point victory. Laughable. I was going to respond to the ridiculousness then but I figured Id wait til the game was over.

I have no problem with taunting or getting excited as long as it doesn't get physical. Now everyone saw Horford sticking his finger in Pierce's face and yelling some smack, but I guarantee you that there was something to provoke that. Nobody gets that excited and singles an indivisual player out unless there is something going on there. So for everyone who thinks Pierce is innocent in this situation needs to wisen up.

But that lit a fire under Pierce and Boston right? Yeah so much that they blew a 10 point lead in the 4th quarter and lost. Now I think the Hawks are a talented, up and coming team, but they still are the team with the worst record in the playoffs. And Boston does have the best record. No way, even on the road, should the best team be blowing a double digit lead in the 4th quarter to a sub .500 team. Boston will win Game 5, but if it goes 7, they better watch out. You give up 35 points to Joe Johnson and almost another 30 to Josh Smith and youre not winning, even if you are the mighty Celtics

mtro where are you buddy, so embarassed by your pathetic Wizards that you abandoned the Wizards message boards, very understandable, however your prediction of a Celtics sweep of the cavs in the second round is not so understandable, i think the series will be much closer than you think, that is IF the Celtics can get past the Hawks

I'm normally a Wizards fan, but I was born in atlanta and lived there for a while so naturally I have to pull for the Hawks. They were especially fun to watch tonight, especially since the wizards are writing checks their butts cant cash. At least the hawks are stepping up and not getting intimidated by one of the better teams in the league. Keep it up and congrats.

i agree brosweets...I'm impressed with the Hawks play, theyre standing up and going toe to toe with the best team in the nba in the regular season, but we all must remember that the playoffs are a whole new season, and people will have to watch out for the Hawks...plus the idea of facing the Hawks in the second round instead of the Celtics is orgasmic

Have to agree on the Pierce/Horford thing. You know there had to be something going on before that for Horford to do that. He is known for being quiet and playing hard, so that outburst was far to unusual to be unprovoked. Pierce doesn't seem to be a trash talker either, but the Celtics have changed since Sam Cassell came on board. His acting like an idiot every time he made a shot a couple of weeks ago in Atlanta is what fired the Hawks up for the playoff run. I think he is a cancer on the Celtics instead of the answer they were looking for. All that being said, the Hawks played well tonight and the Celts didn't, yet the Hawks still barely won. It would be hard enough for the Hawks to win if they had the home court advantage the rest of the way, but without it, it seems very unlikely. It will make it all the more sweeter if they do win though.

I thought it was GREAT!! I love that the young guy took it straight to Boston. and somebody should tell Pierce, his slip is showing. When a young guy flat out disrespects you and challenges you like that, you are supposed to come out and cut his head off in the next game. Just imagine if that had been Kobe, Horford did that to. Kobe would have got medieval on his a$$.
