What do you think? I really don't follow basketball that much. Nor do I keep up with gang hand signals, but it's becoming quite a story here in Boston. Share your thoughts.

Yeah, I saw him throw up his gang signals. I couldn't believe that a grown man, making millions of dollars is still acting like he's a teenager living in poverty. There comes a time when one must grow up and be thankful that they don't have to live like that. Being in a gang is no joke, it sad actually. Doc Rivers can make up all the lies he wants to. He said that Pierce wasn't throwing up gang signals but making a gesture that meant "blood, sweat, and tears". Yeah right Rivers. Stop making excuses, and hold Pierce accountable to kids that look up to professional athletes.

I agree 100%, if that's what he was doing. I've made similar gestures to trash talkers before, and I'm not in any gang. The index finger on the thumb as if to say, "yeah right buddy." or "okay". But, like I said, I'm unaware of any gang hand signals.

I did not see the gesture but if they are going to fine him they need to be consistent with it and fine everybody that does it. I see it happen all the time where a player makes a hand gesture, Stephen Jackson does it all the time, as well as alot of other players. In my opinion you can't single out and fine one player, especially towards the end of the year when it was happening all throughout the regular season. And no, I am not a Boston or Pierce fan, actually it is quite the opposite, I do not like Boston or Pierce, but this is pretty shady for the NBA to do that

What's shady to me is how no one is getting suspended from Atlanta or Boston for the mele they had earlier this week.
The biggest game in Suns history was shot to hell because Stern suspended Stoudamire last year against the Spurs and now they are going to completely ignore any penalty. What a disgrace. The NBA should be ashamed of themselves.

maxximus i agree with what you are saying because the hand gesture Paul Pierce made is the same i see many players make throughout the year but there is a difference. usually what i see is a player will make a three and put three fingers in the air signifying he just made a three but Pierce walked over to the Hawks bench and flashes a hand gesture that is commonly known as a gang sign. and when i was watching the game and i saw it my first reaction was is he flashing a gang sign and i usually do not think that when i see other players do that.

if you call the boston Celtics a gang...yeah you can call it gang signs. the celtics have been making that sign all year. they made it at the beginning of the season it means blood sweat and tears. why would pierce make gang signs. did you guys forget this guy was stabbed multiple times outside of a club... gimme a break. as for the non suspensions. perkins should have been suspended along with Marvin Williams. if they are gonna do it to Suns they should do it to these to teams.

garnett should be suspended he did push a ref. if i remember correctly he didnt look at to see if it was a ref or not but im not 100% sure, either way no excuses for pushing a ref whos just trying to restrain you. as for pierce he does it before everygame, yeah and if it is a gang sign then maybe a suspension or bigger fine is due and i bet hes not the only one doing it in the league either

Celtsfan, no offense, but I think you're being a little naive here. I am aware of the whole blood, sweat, and tears thing, BUT what Pierce flashed was clearly only Blood. Knowing where Paul grew up, and knowing the people he was around, it's obvious to me that it was his intention to let the Dominican know where he's from. Thinking that Pierce would walk towards the Hawks and throw up "blood, sweat, and tears" is ridiculous. Paul hit him up with the 'B'. He deserved the fine, and is pretty damn lucky he didn't get a suspension considering David Stern was in attendance at the game.
