Hey dpwtv the Dodgers have a 13-13 record.  That to me is 26 games into the season not 28.  I guess math is not your strong point.

Thanks for the thread.  When the Dodgers play well I will be the first to say so.  But at the same time when they play bad I am voicing my opinion also.  I still think they are a few players away from being a contender. 

I know all you want to hear is how great the Dodgers are and they are the best team ever but I cannot believe in such dribble nonsense myself.  If that is your opinion that is great for you. 

Dodger blue....I understand this being a Dodger board.  But lets be honest about things. What I cant stand is that some people say and believe this years Dodgers are the best team ever.  There should be some give and take.  Good with the bad. 

Do not get me wrong I do believe the Dodgers have some very good pieces in place for a good team.  Penny, Lowe,Beimel,Saito,Kemp,Loney,Either,Furcal just to name a few.  However there are just as many that have no right collecting a paycheck. A.Jones,Nomar,S.Proctor,our GM to name a few. 

Thats all I am saying.  Lets be honest about everything.  Not all our players are good enough to wear the Dodger Blue.

DP and Dodgerblue.....Those are the first posts I have read that is at least honest.  Not everything in Dodger town is good.  We have our flaws.  Its nice to see that you agree with that.

I will be more honest about the Dodgers chances as long as you all do not paint a picture that the Dodgers are going to win it all. At least not this early in the season.  Do the Dodgers have a chance ...mathematically sure they do.  Would I like to see the Dodgers win it all...sure I do.  But I am also a realist.  Several people have to come around and I do not see that happening.  That means management has to make the change.

I could say the exact same thing to you vegasviper... i promise to be more realistic of the Dodgers chances if you aren't so willing to say the season's over 27 games into the season. I don't recall one person saying this team was going to win it all. We just think we are a lot better than how we've been playing...and as long as we are playing up to our capabilities, we have a legitimate shot to get to the playoffs and make it to the World Series...I'm sorry if that upsets you...but this team is talented enough to do it...if we continue to play well and with a little bit of luck...that every team who succeeds has...

Just to be clear...not saying we're GOING to win it all....just saying I think we have the talent to...and when Kershaw gets here..whenever that is....that's just another cog in the wheel...and who knows what we'll do at the trading deadline as well...there are a lot of intangibles and a lot of time left in this season.

I wanted to respond here, I felt like I should or just wanted to because I am bored. 

VegasViper, I want to know who on here is saying this is the best Dodger team ever, or that even the Dodgers are going to win it all hands down?  Anyone?  I don't recall reading any of that, and if it slipped by me, can you let me know.  I know I, myself am very optimistic about this team today (May1st) and I will be until the E# is 0.  This is a great group of young and old players, not the best team by FAR,  not even in the top ten of Dodger teams in history.  These Dodgers are doing just fine, sure we would all love them to be the team with 20 wins, it didnt happen, who knows maybe they can be the first to 90, and I would be much happier about that.  There is nothing wrong with optimism, misplaced or otherwise, it's called being a fan.  You just seem upset, I can understand, I am too, but you also seem like a Debbie Downer, ragging on those who will maintain their hope until hope runs out.

Remember, as we can always point out, last year on May 1st, the Rockies were in last place in the NL West 11-16, on July 1st, they were 4 games under .500 and 8 games back and they made it to the series.  Also the Yakees were in last place in the AL East 11-14 (on this day last year) and they, with Mr. Torre, won 94 games.  It can be done, because its only May 1st.

I cannot seem to find the person or the post but I rember reading a blog that this was one of the best Dodger teams assembled.  It was during spring training.  As long as that is not the feeling with all the posters here I can live with that.  Sure I get down on the Dodgers onlyl because I want them to win.  It has been too long for that. 

And then it seems our GM makes some bonehead trades or free agent signings that are out of control.  Frustration sets in because in the past this franchise has been a top notch one.  Seems recently the head office couldn't boil water if it wanted too.  Now again do not get me wrong there have been a few good trades and acquisitions but they are overshadowed but the blunders they do. 

While they continue to spend money on players that are not producing they continue to raise prices to the game as well as all the other ammenities.  Making it hard to go to a few games during the season because of the cost.  The cost because they sign players like A.Jones to an outrageous amount of money.

Maybe some of the players have been reading the posts here.  Since I seem to have hit a nerve with a few of you here maybe some of the players want to prove me wrong.  Then I say it was worth it.
