I have no clue who Marvin Harrison is other than he is an accomplished guy.  And with that often comes a huge ego accompanied with frustration if things don't go the way he wants.

I've personally known someone from college, a brilliant and extremely accomplished guy who committed murder.  I never would've expected it from him and I actually knew him and talked to him.

I can definitely understand how devastating it would be if it were true to Harrison's family and to a lesser extent the Colts fans and any fans of his.

The evidence looks bad but lets hope that we can reach some certainty in this matter. But
lets not jump to assume innocence or guilt.  Innocent until proven guilty is just wrong as assuming guilt. ideally you go in with an open mind before making any decisions.

oops messed up on the title but I'm sure its clear.

But for everyone's sake, I hope he is innocent and they find the person involved.

My experience being a Colts fan leaves me puzzled because Marvin historicaly has been quiet and reserved.

People aren't reading the 2nd page of the article, the first page says nothing aout possible evidence.  If the evidence is accurate, its either someone stole the gun from his home and shot someone, or he did it himself.

"A source told WIP that ballistic tests showed the shots were fired from a custom-made Belgian weapon, and police determined Harrison owns that kind of gun.

Police went to a Philadelphia car wash about a half-mile away that is owned by Harrison and questioned him about the gun, the station said. Harrison acknowledged owning such a weapon, but told officials it never left his suburban Philadelphia home, the radio station reported.

The source told the station a gun was discovered in a bucket at the car wash, and test"

When are pro athletes going to learn that nothing can be gained from having a gun when you are out in public?  Even if it was at a place Harrison owned.  Guns and alcohol do not mix.  It will be a costly lesson to Marvin to learn.

As a Colts fan and Harrison fan this news is very upsetting. I hope for everyone's sake he's not the shooter, but like the OP I wouldn't be surprised either way.

It just goes to show that none of us is very smart that hopes a celebrity up as a role model for youth. They (and we) are all to human.

We make them into role models without knowing their real character. It's our fault that happens.

Michael Jordan is a God to many, but a compulsive gambler. Brett Favre is a living legend, but a former addict to Vicodin. Michael Vick was the head of the franchise in Atlanta, and look what happened.

We don't know who these people are. We just see how talented they are when they play the sports that they get paid millions to play.

Take your average human being. Do you honestly think people would act more appropriate, or less appropriate, if you gave them millions of dollars? I'd guess less appropriate. Having that much money probably clouds judgement... in my opinion.

It really is a shame when squeeky-clean people tarnish their images to the world. Like Marvin Harrison is doing now.

Kobe Bryant makes one mistake in his personal life, and he will never be respected again.

Clemens was once a God, but his ego is so big that he just keeps on burying himself deeper and deeper in the mud.

We should not treat these people are heroes, no matter what they do on, or off, the playing field/court/etc.

We need to remember that they are athletes, and are human just like the rest of us, and make the same mistakes that all humans are prone to make in their lives. Some just have more morals than others, or just do a better job at keeping their names from being tarnished.

It's unfortunate that we will never know who the real role models are when it comes to pro athletes.
