Hang in there Mahole527 - You sound like a good person... with a lot of stuff to contend with.

I hear you - it is very tough out there and it sounds like you are working your butt off and when you have kids depending on you it is even harder.  Poverty DOES suck - I wish I was one of those billionaires because there are a lot of brothers out there on hard times... And when I say brothers - I don't care what color and it should not matter.

I am from a big family and my Dad was in the USMC and the pay was never enough.  It motivated me but I will admit it can be depressing.  Stay strong.  Love those kids - they grow up to fast.

We all just have to stop tearing at each other because it only breeds hate and distrust.  We're on these sports blogs for a little downtime and I feel bad when some get pleasure ripping or talking down to each other.

All you can do is your best... There is good in everyone - sometimes it just takes time to bring it out in each other.

So you like the Phillies, Flyers, Sixers - all make sense.

But how are you not an Eagle fan?  I hate to tell you this but YOU and Jesse James have something in common - you are both Cowboy fans!  What is up with that?

I loved Dr J, Mike Schnidt, Steve Carlton and of course the Flyers were the only US team to beat the Soviets back in the day,  Don't you remember the song "Mamma don't let your babies to grow up to be Cowboys"?

What did you get hooked on those Cowboy cheerleaders - can't blame you there!

my older  brother beat me up during a dallas eagle game. and eagles were winning so i was pissed and started routing 4 dallas. and they wound up winning. and he beat me up again. and i loved making him nuts lol. of course this is the same brother i worshiped. we had 5 sisters and no father. so it was my only male influence. anyway it made each season more interesting. yo . and thanks for those kind words. i have no degrees but i am a pretty sucsessful chef. who judging by where i came from is making a great living lol. but i do well and no one in my family needs for anything. i just cant stand people who judge when they dont know what its like in that world. and im not talking about you. i am only on redline. and jesse thanks dude for sticking up 4 me. bottom line i came up rough. and grammer aside i could debate his ass in the ground. and if we ever met i could kick his ass too, if i needed to. and thats not a call out  just an observation lol.

Grammar rules don't make you a genius BUT...

by the way it doesnt matter but i swear i am a white guy defending minorities. i cant belive i gotta keep saying that. but he cant belive it. i love everbody i have a car but i take public transportation anyway. not to save money but not to forget where i came from. and to keep meeting new people i have so many friends from that its insane. the only days i take my car is when i have my son. by the way im a single parent whos marriage was impossible due to my work hours. but it all worked out anyway. . i see my son and i did see my daughter before she got too old to visit me lol , way more than i ever did when i was doing the wife and kids thing. oh and my son is coming to live with me full time in august. im downsizing my hours so i can be there for him. and i cant wait til that happens its gonna be awesome, yo again you rule and i get a little crazy sometimes im glad there are people like you and jesse looking out for hot heads like me. i gave you some insight to my life in the last two posts. i guess because i am 2 proud of myself to have anyone showing me pity. i live by what doesn't kill me makes me stronger. i been held at gunpoint 3 times stabbed once hit by a car and still kicking and kicking hard.

Well that explains how you got to be a Dallas fan... I used to really despise them but over the years I guess I have softened up.  Michael Irvin was from the U (Miami) so I could not root against him... and Emmit Smith was kind of an underdog at first and I admired his toughness - so don't get me wrong I want my Skins to win especially against Dallas but I do tip my hat to them.  Jerry Jones and Dan Snyder are true fans with a ton of cash.  Michael Irvin's HOF speech was one of the best I ever heard except for MLKs (and I am white).

Congrats on your job/work - I am glad you were able to do well especially considering all you had to go through.  Tip my hat to you, also.  I value degrees but they are not the only path to success.  Hard work, determination and staying positive all count.    I am going to add you to my favorite as well.

I thought Dallas fans would get a kick out of the Arrington hit on Aikman

Peace...

Your favorite 'Skins fan (maybe the only)

Don't worry - At least you have college on your side.

A lot of times it can be a door opener - It might sound silly but you can add some marketable skills in an inexpensive way.  Video Professor offers training in Excel, Powerpoint and a number of things that will help you get a good job.  Buy one course and you get one free.  Try it and if you don't like it then you are only out maybe $20.  The good thing about that is you learn at your own pace and repeat sections as many times as you need.  Don't feel bad about 7 Eleven - never feel bad about honest work.  But I know you can do better.

Another idea - go to the State web page and keep an eye on openings.... There are a lot of positions - some with paid entry level.  Then once you are in you get first dibs on internal positions.  Even if you don't like it - it will at least beef up your resume.

No one likes to play minor league ball but often you have to break in somewhere.

Good-luck also and you know you will be thinking of me when those new 'Skins receiviing corp starts producing       i added you to my favorites so we can stay in touch
