Okay, so we all know the Chiefs had a pretty solid draft.  With that said, we need to figure out how we are going to use the tools we picked up.  The most obvious question is how we plan to use Branden Albert.

As you all know, Albert played left guard for a majority of his time at Virginia.  However, he did flex out to left tackle for two games (and did an above-average job).  Scouts say he has the form, footwork, and speed to be a left tackle in the NFL... but maybe not from day one.

So, you are GM for a day (okay, a season), where do you start Branden Albert?  Keep in mind both the needs of the team (LT) and the long-term developmental issues associated with over committing a rookie.  Can we afford to wait (and risk losing a shot to assess Brodie behind a decent line)?  Can we afford not to wait (and risk losing our 15th pick because of wanting early returns)?

Proving that Chiefs fans know their football, you have to play Albert at Tackle. Considering that he is already accustomed to playing the left side, it would probably slow his growth to move him to Right Tackle. Logically leaving him at Left Tackle day one next to pro bowler Brian Waters. If he needs some help at times, we will have a FB and 6-8/270 TE to assist. The only way you ever see this guy at Guard is if he becomes the next Faider Robert Gallery. Not going to happen! Branden Albert is going to be the next of a long line of stud Chief Left Tackles.

I say we find out how he develops during camp.... If he shows immediate prowess at LT then throw him there. But don't feed him to the Lions (RDE's) instantly. The kid is definitely a Fball player and I feel that no matter where we put him, he will do well. With that said, lets see him in camp along with some of our new (or young) guys. When we see where the pieces fall in camp, then we make the decision.

This is kind of off the subject, but I'm a little uneasy at putting Boone at end.  I hope it's a ploy to get Turk fired up.  Maybe one of our undrafted free agents will pan out.  We have virtually no depth at DE.

I would hope he can play LT cause that guy from Miami sure cant block the ends. McIntosh I think is his name. But if he plays guard or tackle, he will be an improvement on the line.

I have watched a fait amount of tape on Albert, and I'm pretty certain he will be able to handle the Tackle spot.  He is very athletic, and while playing most of his time at guard, the coaches at Virginia had no doubts he could have played tackle.  Obviously, if he shows something otherwise at camp, I would assume they are intending on him playing tackle.  Either way, as long as he is on the field, we will be better.  Go Chiefs

Sign him before preseason.  That would be my main priority as a GM.
