This just in today. Rangers winger Sean Avery, who lacerated his spleen in Tuesday's game, has been moved out of the ICU. This is big news, not only that he'll make a full recovery, but that he will once again become an asset for the New York Rangers next year. He is the core, the tough, the backbone of this team. He is the glue that holds it together, one of the main attractions that puts fans in the seats, Martin Brodeur's offcial pesk. He is willing to do the dirty work. What would the Ranger's do without him?

Thank god he is okay.

Just to add this, he played through this injury most of the way. He injured it the "early portion" of the game. He is not only willing to do anything it takes to win, he played through a very painful injury and it makes you wonder if he's okay mentally for not having felt that pain as intensely as the average sane human.

Thank god he is okay.

This will serve as a rallying cry for the Rangers, looking for any motivation possible as they are down by 3 in the series. This is the perfect opportunity to come together. Go Rangers!

Hopefully, if not this year, next year the Rangers are motivated by this courageous act. I would be inspired if I knew this guy personally.

Thank god he is okay.

Sean Avery is a very courageous and passionate player. If this doesn't sound like a load of sh!t, I think the city of New York should be honored.

Thank god he is okay.

I don't think the Rangers are going to re-sign Avery, so that would be a problem.

That moron Glen Sather better have realized that Avery was the main reason for success each of the past two seasons.

However, if we get rid of those two useless defensemen, #8 and #55, along with Straka retiring, the Rangers could potentially go after D Brian Campbell. We desperately need to improve the power-play because #3 isn't a power-play quarterback.

Thank god he is okay.

This Bruins fan just wants to add a Get Well Sean to the thread. He a courageous guy and above all a true hockey player. It'll be good to see him back on skates again next year.

Thank god he is okay.

Don't get me wrong... I would never wish something like this on another person, but if it's going to happen to somebody then it could hardly have happened to a more deserving guy!  He'll be back on the ice making a fool of himself and his team in no time!

Thank god he is okay.

Screw Avery!! You live by the sword you Die by the sword. What happened to him is simply providence. Goofs like him are a dime a dozen  and are never remembered in sport history.I do admit though he fits in
