Have  you ever heard anyone say "THE NCAA TOURNAMENT SUCKS!  IF THEY WOULD JUST CHANGE IT SO THAT WE COULD VOTE ON THE NATIONAL CHAMPION THEN IT WOULD BE MY FAVORITE TIME OF YEAR!"

me neither.

i agree the ncaab is decided the right way with a tournament, its a shame that people oppose a playoff system it deprives fans of what they deserve otherwise teams that dont deserve the nc like osu will get in the nc and lose every year

What is amazing to me is to hear the excuses for not having a playoff...and then to have someone say that TV doesn't control the leagues?  It is ALL about money...that's advertising, that's TV contracts!

More controversy with a 4-team playoff?  Then go to 8.  More games, more money.

The most controversy we could have is what we have now...no one knows which team should be #1 half the time even after the final game.  And don't BCS proponents say that controversy is good for college football?  I hear that all the time...which makes NO SENSE at all.

I am with you 100%.  Now, what will you do about it??  Rant on cbssports.com behind the anonymous label of beater29, or will you actually join with us who will try something else to get the attention of those that make these decisions?

On another post, someone suggested that we boycott games in the first 4 weeks of the season and ht them where it hurts.  If they lose some money, they will be forced to iisten to the fans.  I will not go, nor watch any college football, even when my Bucks travel to Southern Cal, in the first 4 weeks of the season.  That is how much I want a playoff system.  Will you step in, or are you just another whiner who lacks any true conviction about this.  Go in or go away.

Nope, I agree with your rationale. The Basketball tournament opens the window of opportunity for several schools. I am not suggesting we move to a 64 team tournament for football, HOWEVER it does make sense that a team ranked #1-8 would have more to play for.

I HATED the old Tom Osbourne (Nebraska) teams that would schedule patsies on their way to a "one game season" for an eventual crack at a national championship. Kudos, now to a Nebraska program (I'm not a Cornhusker fan!!!!) that takes on big and strong schools during the non-conference schedule. They should be rewarded as a 10-1 (or heaven forbid 9-2) team that took on a tough schedule.  If the BCS and rankings gurus want to stay involved they can keep that component to the rankings. But don't penalize a 10-1 team that played in a tough conference because there is an 11-0 team that is rewarded by playing a questionable strength of schedule. This opens up opportunity for "small" schools like Appalachian St. (Div II- yes let them play in a BCS Bowl), Boise State, Fresno St., USF, TCU, etc... a chance to lock down a spot by beating the "big" schools."

It is the National Collegiate Arrogant A$$HO!&$ that drive the gravy train away from the student athletes while restricting lunch/laundry money. Time to hold these fools accountable to share the wealth or find new leadership!!!

I'm a conviction lacking whiner.  THERE IS NOTHING WE CAN DO.  THEY HAVE ALL THE POWER. Even if everyone on this message board boycotts, do you thing that the students, the alums, and the casual fans give a crap about what the post season looks like.  Get used to is fellas, because the bcs mafia is here to stay and there isn't a damn thing we can do about it.  I'll watch, because I like football.  Its in the hands of the government now.  Hopefully they do something.
