Danny Woodhead is a good football player. The Jets would be making a  mistake in cutting him after training camp. They can use him like San Diego uses Darren Sproles. With his ability, the sky is the limit.

Hope he makes it.

and you would know since Sproles torched the Colts 3 times for TDs last year haha. But yeah, I hope this kid makes it.

Yeah. Woodhead can be a Sproles type player. Yes and sadly I saw all three Sproles touchdowns against the Colts. If Woodhead can even pull of one of the touchdowns that Sproles pulled off, the Jets would have hit gold.

Hope he makes it.

Hopefully he does make the team, and WOW us. I couldn't believe he wasn't drafted!

Hope he makes it.

I know. I kind of wish that the Colts had drafted Woodhead in the 6th or 7th after seeing what Sproles did. Well, Woodhead has the potential to have a Willie Parker type story.

Hope he makes it.

Best luck to Danny Woodhead.  He's pretty good from what I have heard.  He gotta show that size doesn't matter.  His career yards from Div II school didn't really matter in the NFL but he got to use his speed.  I'd love to see him make it through.

Hope he makes it.

seen the guy play and anyone, not a chadron fan will tell you he put up amazing numbers against very, very weak D2 competition. WHen he played some of the top teams in the division in the playoffs, he was horrible.

the numbers are deceiving

sproles is 100 times a better back. he can run trough tackles and woodhead can't.

Hope he makes it.

Football talent and football players are largely developed and nurtured through coaching and competition. Once a player is in camp and in games, where you played college doesn't matter. It's all about your productivity when given the opportunity. The Jets will give Woodhead an opportunity to carve out a niche and a role in the offense and special teams. With Woodhead's work ethic and some diligent talent evaluation by the Jets, this could prove to be a valuable signing. For Woodhead's sake, and the Jets team, hopefully it works out.

Hope he makes it.

Nice story, you can't help but pull for the guy. Good luck to the young man and I hope he finds a job with some NFL team.

Hope he makes it.

I agree, he is a great story and I hope he makes the team too. Seeing him at the draft he was very relaxed and had all the right answers. His heart will get him far and who knows, could be the third down back for the Jets.

I know a lot of people will say playing D-II hurt him during the draft but you figure Don Bebe came out of that college and he was pretty damn good.

Hope he makes it.

It would actually be a very un-Willie Parker-like story.  Parker hardly saw the field at UNC.  Woodhead was one of the most durable and productive backs in college history.

Hope he makes it.

Size has never in this game, meant that much, it helps, but it definatly shouldn't of kept him from being drafted. I hope the kid does well. Besides if your tiny you can hide behind the big guys until a hole opens up and your already lower then half the opposing players. Being tiny has its advantages to, you know.

Hope he makes it.

Good example:  Broncos got undrafted Rod Smith from small college, ended up on practice squad and then became starting wide receiver before he retiring with hip problems.  He made pretty several 1,000-plus yards seasons.  He probably will end up in Hall of Fame.  What got him there?  With him being unselfish and hard-working attitude.   You might never know that'll happen to Danny Woodhead.

Hope he makes it.

It is a nice story but he is nothing more than a special teams player

Hope he makes it.

This may just freek you guys out, but I play RB and i am also 5'7"ft 1/2. My last name Woodhead. I weigh a bit  less than Danny as he is 197lb and I am a slender 140lb. Bit it is a bit spooky don't you think?

Hope he makes it.

spooky?.....no :) it didnt' scare me one bit

my last name is Allen, I live in the KC, and played RB in college....never once did people get "spooked" between myself and Marcus.

Best of luck to you and your career---that looks more like a football trophy in your pic---so you must be 100X's better then I ever was at RB.

Hope he makes it.

One week after I-AA Montana State upset D1 Colorado, this guy come to MSU and ran for 215 and reminded the Cats that upsets go both ways. He looked pretty quick then against competition which was supposed to be a higher level than what he normally faced. I hope he does very well.

Hope he makes it.

Woodhead is not as good as sproles at all. He is decent. He has speed, he can potentially add special teams help as a gunner, but with being only 5'8 basically he doesn't have the size to run between the tackles on a game by game basis. He will come in as a 3rd down back IF he makes the squad because of his speed. He needs to add weight and develop as a pass blocker before he can excell in this league as anything more than in spot duty.
