I don't know how many of you guys watched the game today...but should we be worried about our pitching now? Everyone was relying on Boof and Liriano as our aces...Liriano has been doin' bad but we still had Boof...after Boof allowing 6 runs in 2 innings...should we be worried?

So...you ever hear of this guy Brad Radke? He was a great pitcher for the Twins and he also occasionally gave up big innings early in the game, and the Twins would win those sometimes. Other times Radke would give up 1, or 2, or 3 runs in a game...only to lose. The moral of the story: sometimes pitchers will pitch well and lose, other times they will pitch like crap and end up winning. Boof had a bad inning and the Twins won, so I THINK all is forgiven.

Bonser was able to hang in there and record 5 scoreless innings after giving up 6 runs in the 1st.  It was a fluke inning.  Bonser was throwing strikes and the Tigers were hitting them.  The bloop double, the wild pitch were just things that happen and they happened in one inning.  The Tigers thought the game was over....but the Twins chipped away...got a break and took full advantage of it.  As Twins fans know it stings to lose a nice lead like the games in Detroit. But good teams battle and find a way to win.  The Tigers will be there most of the year as will the Twins.  Bullpen will provide the strength for the Twins...hitting for Detroit.  Everyone wants to count the Twins out, but we have more offensive weapons than we have had in the past.  Kubel is healthy for once and Delmon Young has not gotten a hot streak yet.  So be to in 1st place at the beginning of May and on a 5 game winning streak is great.  On to Chicago...take at least 2 out of 3 and back home against Boston.  It will not get easier, only harder.

maybe you should wait to bash on a guy until the game is over.  you complained boof gave up 6 runs in 2 innings.  well...he ended up going 6 innings and only surrendered 5 earned runs...and most importantly....the Twins won!

I would say no.  Boof will be fine.  Everyone has an off day and he settled down nicely after he let up those 6 in the first.  If Baker didn't get hurt, Bass probably would have come in for him.  Boof finally got some run support to bail him out.  Did you know in Boof's last 33 starts he has 28 games of 3 or less run support? On many teams he would be at least a 15 game winner if not 20.  What about Hernandez?  Livan is doing a good job.  He doesn't have overpowering stuff by any means, but is a finese pitcher.  Not to mention an asset to a young rotation.  Blackburn looks good as well.  Once we can get back the pre surgery Liriano and Baker from this nagging groin issue, we will be fine.  Actually better then fine, outstanding!
