Ok, everyone keeps on talking about, and complaining about the WR issue. Honestly, I think we can stop by now.

Roy Williams will not be traded, not likely.
Chad Johnson, doubtful this season, maybe next.
Boldin, maybe, but how many years of prime does he have left?

Think about the receivers we have for one second. Reggie Brown, well, he isn't great, but I think this year he is going to do much better, why? Because it's going to be Kevin Curtis's second year in Eagle green. Of course, why would that affect Reggie? Because when two receivers on opposite sides get more familiar with eachother, and the offense, it creates a more comfortable scenery. Also, more people will be concerned about Curtis, thinking he will be a bigger problem, or Jackson with his speed, they will most likely begin to overlook Reggie.

Kevin Curtis, the second Eagle to post 1000+ yard season since Reid got here, who was the first? T.O. That in my opinion, shows that curtis can compete against many teams. This will be his second year with us, so he'll be more familiar with the offense and how it works, as well as McNaab will have confidence to throw him the ball in tight spots.

Jackson, I see this one as a wild card, if Andy puts him in the slot, it can be very interesting... imagine a play where he lines up next to curtis, and they both go straight out, but then curtis cuts in and baits the safety? either Jackson burns past the corner, or Curtis gets open over the middle. Either way it can create mismatches.

As for Avant, I think he can begin to actually contribute much more to our RZ offense. He's definitely got enough height, he just needs to get comfortable. I can't see him a burner, but I think if we line up with LJ, Curtis, Jackson, and Avant, one of them is getting a TD, especially with Westbrook in the backfield.

McNaab will also be back to form this year, more comfortable with the knee, and I think that will make a bigger difference than anything.

Lito is at camp, he might get a new contract since he isn't whining about it and holding out. with the 3 corners we have, we can do some damage on defense. Our front seven can get some pressure going while our secondary rocks their receivers.

We look a lot better than most of you guys consider. We ditched the dead weight, and if Bradley can't produce, we have some people that can step in instead.

I think we can reach the playoffs, maybe even the NFC championship. Possibly the SB, I don't know. But I think we have more talent and more of a chance now than we did last year.

Im so sick of hearing about how Avant and Baskett are going to make a difference this year.  Holy Sh&t no they are not!!!!  At freaking best they are mediocre 4th and 5th on the depth chart.  a waste of space

Did I not list him at no. 4???

I know he isn't going to do anything special. But I think since defenses are going to be too busy with the rest of our team in the RZ, he might be able to get a few TD's he wouldn't normally get, that's all I really said, if you read carefully.

Look we can spin it any way you want.  But with the offense that our coachs choose to run (pass 60%) we dont have the WR's to cover up the fact the DMac isnt a very accurate passer.  To suceed in the west coast offense you need either an accurate passer or big play WR to cover up the fact that Mcnabb completes what about 59% of his passes in a good year?

I love Brown and Curtis as a #2 and a #3, but either we need to get a true #1 OR run the ball a whole lot more.  Hell we have the line for it.  That 50/50 balance we had with Jeff Garcia was the best this offense ran in a long time

no offense magicmaster, figuratively and literally!  but how many more times do we need to "trust" that these receivers will develop into something more than they appear? The Eagles have played musical chairs with these guys since Reid has been here. Remember Gari Scott?  Na Brown?  Freddie Millons, Todd Pinkston, Freddie Mitchell?  Greg Lewis?  (Oh I forgot he is STILL here!)  The Eagles treat this position, a position they employ 60% of the time, like the Phillies treat pitching.  They bring in bargains with the potential to develop into something special, but none has yet to do it.  I would like to believe that you are right, but I have this song and dance before.

sorry man i stopped after reading after "Boldin, maybe, but how many years of prime does he have left?"

he's 27, or 28... not 33-35.

and poo

"...like the Phillies treat pitching. They bring in bargains with the potential to develop into something special"

was Lidge cheap at $6+ million? how's he doing this year so far? JC Romero? gosh i hope he's doing well cause we did just spend $3+ mill on him this off season. Combined ERA of 0.66 between the two...

They bring in bargains with the potential to develop into something special, but none has yet to do it.  I would like to believe that you are right, but I have this song and dance before. I don't think that's true. They brought in Terrell Owens, they brought in Kevin Curtis who was the best WR available in free agency last year, they tried to get Randy Moss and Chad Johnson. I think the Eagles understand how important the position is, there are just no great WR's available.... Unless you know of one we can get?
