I was on the WR bandwagon as much as anyone, but seriously, when really when you look at it, if we are putting our faith in TO, was it really ia "this season, need".  I'd love to see Roy Williams in a star, but to be honest, it wasn't really a this year need as much as, we have this guy if we can't sign TO again.  After assessing the whole situation(salary cap, the draft WR crop, the price we would have to pay to trade for a veteran WR, and last year's success)I agree with Wade here, and I really believe the Cowboys did an awesome job in the draft at filling their immediate needs, corner, and RB.  Would have liked to see a safety or DE, but when you are in the situation Dallas is in salary cap wise, I am not sure you have that luxury.   Also, Patrick Crayton was signed to an extension, that may be a decision that may haunt our team, but it was made.

When I saw every WR drop past the 1st round I thought Dallas would surelly pick one up. The Jackson kid out of Cal seemed like a nice option. I wasn't happy for a couple days after the draft when they didn't pick a single one.

Than I listened to Wade this week. It just made sense to me. He has a damn good point. Hurd, Austin and Stanback are really raw. Not to mention all the rookie FA's. Which to me means they should improve based on last years experience.

I guess I bought into the whole no need to worry mind set. I've been saying that it's impossible (not matter how much we would like it) to have the best player in the league at each position. There just isn't cap space for that. I just hope T.G. can come back be productive, instead of waste of cap space.

The Cowboys receivers are getting up there in age and think about it T.O will play maybe a couple more years at a high level, and then you have Glenn who is old too and not to mention he was injured.  After them you have Patrick Crayton who isn't anything more than a number 3 receiver so in my opinion the Cowboys should have got a receiver in this years draft.

They say it takes a receiver 3 years to breakout in the NFL, and in 3 years Owens will be gone and so will Glenn.

I think the argument for not taking a receiver in the draft was a good one by Jerry.  There was not a receiver in this year's draft that looked to be able to come in and make an impact, or be a #1 guy that could take over for TO.  That was pretty obvious when none were taken in the 1st round.  Seriously, look at what NE has done, now I realize they have Tom Brady.  But how many of the WR's they have had on their team over the last 4 or 5 years have they actually drafted?   Receiver to me is one of those positions where you have a ton of guys out there in free agency almost every year, this year was a little lighter than most, but they were there.   I agree, TO is probably on his last wheel, and obviously so is Glenn,  but I really don't think their replacement was coming from the crop of WR's in this draft.  It will come via trade, or free agency next season IMO.

NO NEED TO WORRY ABOUT WR'S!!!!!!!!! WE WILL HAVE Terrell Owens,Terry Glenn, Patrick Crayton, Sam Hurd,Isaiah Stanback AND Danny Amendola.

WE DO NOT NEED TO WASTE DRAFT PICKS, TEAM CHEMISTRY, AND SALARY CAP SPACE TO GET AN AGING,EXPENSIVE WR.

WADE PHILLIPS AND RAY SHERMAN HAVE SAID THAT ISAIAH STANBACK IS MAKING TONS OF PROGRESS, RUNNING CRISP ROUTES AND CATCHING THE BALL. AND REMEMBER, HE HAS AWESOME SPEED AND RUN-AFTER-THE-CATCH ABILITIES.

HE WILL BE OUR"Roy Williams","Chad Johnson"AND "Anquan Boldin" THIS YEAR.

NO NEED TO TRADE FOR A WR. JUST LIKE IN THE BEGINNING OF 2006, WHEN EVERYONE ASKED WHEN ARE THE Cowboys BRINGING IN A QB OF THE FUTURE? JONES AND COMPANY SAID"HE MAY BE ON THE ROSTER ALREADY". HE WAS ,HIS NAME; Tony Romo.

NOW EVERYONE IS SCREAMING FOR A WR TO COMPLEMENT TO AND ONE THAT WILL EVENTUALLY REPLACE HIM. HE IS ON THE ROSTER. HIS NAME; ISAIAH STANBACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RELAX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DN

For my self ! I'm still hoping Isaiah Stanback gets into the rotation in the pre-season games. I want to see what he can do against NFL caliber DB's. And yes ! He has to be our Williams, Johnson, and Bolden wraped into one. Its good to hear Wade has some confidence in him.

dc, bringing in an aging WR is not a "certain" either. How often has a team signed or traded for a "Star Skill Position" player, only to never see any production as close as to what that player produced in the past, and the team just ends up wasting salary cap space and draft picks.

Romo wasn't "certain" either, though the coaches felt that way so they didn't go out and get a QB. That allowed Romo to get his chance, and he proved the coaches were right.

Have faith in the coaches. If Ray Sherman and Wade say Stanback is making astounding progress and will be a "contender", have faith in what they say. Stanback, like Romo, just needs a chance to show what he has. If we go out and get a "Name" WR, then we just stunt Stanbacks progress and all but eliminate Danny Amendolas' chances of making the squad(we won't keep 7 WR's, and last year I was hoping they'd keep Jereme Urban. Instead we kept a WR that has the "measureables" of size and speed, but can't run a decent route and has frying pan hands), and I think Amendola is going to be a PLAYER!

Wait until the middle of the pre-season, and you will all see what the coaches mean about Stanback and you'll all forget about trading for an aging, expensive, big name WR.

 GO Cowboys!!!!!
