After 2 years of OSU getting it handed to them in the title game,  why would anyone put them #1 in a poll and give them the fast lane back to the game?  Returning a lot of starters, on a team that got out-classed at every position in their last game, doesn't make them good.   Did the returning starters, that got blown out by UF, help the team the next year against LSU?  NO!  AP voters and sports writers need to understand this and put OSU where they deserve to be, somewhere between 5 and 10, in the poll and let them earn their way into the title game.

I couldn't agree more.  Ohio State will probably run through the week a$$ Big 10 again and face up with another powerhouse SEC team and get creamed.  It's really ridiculous.  Playing in the conference they play in really helps them too as the chances of them losing to the weaker competition in the Big 10.  Put them in the SEC one season and see what happens.  Three losses at least.  GUARANTEED.

A lack of intensity and focus and horrible line and QB play did not help either. At least the second blowout was a "road" game. I am a huge buckeye fan and I think they will have a great season but until they beat USC and figure out how to beat an Illinois team that runs an SEC style offense but with much less talent, I will be skeptical

What a short term memory college football fans have.... You are unintellegent.

Handed 2 BCS Championship games in a row?

2006: Ohio State was the only team in college football history to play in 3 #1 vs #2 games.  All 3 opponents came from 3 different conferences.  Ohio State was the only undefeated team in college football.

2007: YOUR TEAM LOST TO SOMEONE CRAPPY!  I dont care who your team is!  Win your games and Ohio State would not have been there.  If USC had beated and 40 point underdog, they would have gone.  If UGA didnt lose to a non-bowl team in SC then they would have gone.  If Oklahoma didnt lose to Texas Tech they would have gone.  WVU lost to a 28 point underdog at home.  You cant blame the Buckeyes cause your team crumbled and we beat the teams we were suppose to.

2008: More talent than any team in the country.  4-5 first round draft picks.  Game at pre-season #4 USC.  I promise again if your team crumbles under the pressure then the Buckeyes will be there again.  Start the crying now!!!! I LOVE THE CRYING!

'Outclassed at every position' - pulllleasse.  Yes they lost the game; blown-out no.  Penalties that kept the other team's offense on the field did more than anything to determine the outcome.  And - if your teams are so good - beat the crummy teams!  As TheSportsGods pointed out.

I would love to see Ohio State go through an SEC schedule (east or west) just once and see if they don't have a slip up here or there.  The conference schedule is so damn brutal in the SEC.  I wouldn't expect you to understand that though.

First, let me say this. I BATHE in the hate you haters pour on us. It's great to see that so many people HATE OSU. It really shows how jealous you are.

That being said, I can't sit and take Samo saying OSU was outclassed at every position. If I remember right, Beanie Wells ran all over the place in the first quarter of the NC game, and a memorable "stiff arm from hell" in the third quarter against one of the so called LSU linebackers. I believe the kid was knocked backwards on his butt by Sir Beanie.

I know we didn't win, and it was a bad loss but to say we were out classed at every posistion is ignorance.

OK.  Maybe the statement "outclassed at every position" was a hyperbole but how this can be construed as "hating" or "crying" is beyond me.   Wells did make some good plays.  However, when Dorsey and the rest of the long injured D-line got going in the second half, he was held to under 30 yards.  Laurinaitis did have around 18 tackles but most were 5 or more yards downfield.   No doubt OSU made some good plays, as they did against UF.  Still, that does not diminish the fact they have had a shot two years in a row and both years showed they were not in the same class as the competition. OSU fans that post stuff like this need to spend less time attacking everyone who does not think the Buckeyes are the greatest and spend some time watching the BCS reruns.

Ok, I just went and watched the BCS reruns...

Ohio State is 4-2 and killed some teams in there.

Tennessee is 1-1.  2 BCS games in 10 years.  Remember when Tennesee was relvant to college football?  Maybe you should worry about your school getting blown out by Florida again more than OSU getting blown out by them.

VolPride,

I agree if OSU was in the SEC they would lose a game or two.  In good years they could run the table and in re-building years (like last year) they would probably lose 3 games.  But don't act like they would get their a$$es kicked every year by every one.  Keep in mind they would have home games if they were in the SEC instead of having to go to your home state for every bowl game.

Samo,

A shot 2 years in a row.  They deserved their shot against Florida and totally layed an egg.  I don't think anyone wanted to play LSU knowing it was a down year, but what were they supposed to do? Coward away from playing?
