I am not WORRIED about Virginia, BUT
We have to fly 3,000 miles to play game ONE.
(What if it was a low scoring game at the half?)
It's only game one. MOST OF THESE OTHER POWERHOUSES (SEC TEAMS) WILL NEVER EVEN GET ON A PLANE, MUCH LESS PLAY 3,000 MILES AWAY ON GAME ONE.
So I am concerned.
Ohio State = Major Blow Out. Let's face it, everybody knows that. Most of all Ohio State fans.
But IF we beat Virginia, I would think a home game against tOSU would be sort of like when we spank Notre Dame or UM, in So Cal...
But to travel to Oregon State for week 3 is far more of a concern than visiting Ohio State in week 2.

But sorry, the Ohio State team, quality plodders and all that, when they show up in the Coloseum, sorry but it will be a Bowl game against a team with a speed advantage at every position on the field.

Okay, OSU lost the last two National Championship games. Yes, the Big 10 hasn't been as strong as it usually is. But...OSU has lost 3 games in two years. And the teams they lost to were the two National Champions and a Rose Bowl loser.
In 2006, OSU choked. Last year, they were obviously outmatched. Still, they were and still are one of the best teams in the country. Period. No championship losses or a bunch of rants from uneducated @ssholes (Dodd included) can change that.
The Buffalo Bills lost 4 straight Super Bowls. But you can't say they weren't one of the best NFL teams of those years...

Yes they will win a lot of games and due to the injustice of the BCS probably have a good shot at getting to the Title games. However if i had the bad luck to be an Ohio State fan i would want to stay away from the Championship Game and would pray on bended knee every night that i never have to see an SEC team in a big game ever again. You should join the regime that is pushing for a college football secesion from the south, then maybe teams like osu, michigan, and nebraska could be real contenders again,

Should be a good game to start the season and gauge how well USC and OSU will be. However, agree with ewinter43. Once OSU runs the table in the Big 10, they will get crushed in the title game again. It's a shame the BCS will not add a plus one to give the top 4 teams a chance to duke it out for title games rights. This way if OSU did play in the title game, it'd be easier for everyone to respect their play in that game. But because of the greedy conference's it looks like we'll see a 1 loss OSU team play either a 1 lose SEC of 1 lose Pac 10 team. Whoever gets left out will complain all off season. don't you love the BCS?

We play out west almost every other year! Cal last year, UCLA this one and at Oregon in three years. Not to mention we played Notre Dame, Ohio St is scheduled as is Oklahoma! So read a little before you open your big ignorant mouth. And if you consider Virginia competition then you are in for a very long season!

Watching them play, my friends and I agreed that Ohio State seems to have the most obnoxious fans. We can't figure out why. (Maybe because the Browns and Indians and Cav's have sucked for so long its the only team they can embrace b/c of a tainted coaching staff) Most people at the table weren't even partial, but the chanting inside bothered them. (Why would you shout indoors? I don't get that. O-h-i-o? Hey, four letters, congratulations.)

Wow, last I checked, the Cavs and Indians owned the Tigers and Pistons last year. The Lions are a joke. Of course, we are talking about Ohio State. Let's see, they beat Michigan in.... well, just about everything these days. The rest of your post was rather incoherent, so I'll leave it at that.
I enjoy some of the clever little nicknames you guys have for Ohio State. The luckeyes is a rather worn out one, but an Ohio State University? Wow, you are a funny guy, carolina. Can you come up with nicknames for all of Cleveland's pro teams as well. I can't wait to read them.
I guess Ohio State will definitely get blown out by USC. If you guys say so, I'm with you. Did you know that the Patriots are going to crush the Giants in Super Bowl XLII? There is also no way that the Marlins will beat the Yankees in the 2003 World Series. Why even play the games? Do you know what the biggest waste of a game to ever be played will be? Villanova vs. Georgetown in the 1985 NCAA basketball championship game. Georgetown is going to kill them.
I have an idea. How about we tone down the rhetoric a little bit and wait until the game is played. If USC blows out OSU you guys can talk all the crap you want, and if by chance OSU wins, you won't look so stupid.
