Here is the trade

Vlad, Prince Fielder, and Harang for Garret Atkings, Carmona, and AROD

My offensive production has sucked thusfar this year, I know I would be giving up 2 big bats, but they haven't done much for me so far.....and you don't get many chances for AROD

Any thoughts

Steve

Do it! Atkins will put up solid numbers so don't underrate him

A-Rod and Atkins will produce great numbers for you.  Carmona is a waste of a pitcher slot for you though.  He doesn't strike out many and won't win near as many games this year.  He pitches to contact which is OK but you can't be walking people and then pitch to contact.  Too many bad things can happen.

A-Rod should out produce Fielder for the rest of the year even if Fielder breaks out of his funk.  Atkins and Vlad will be about a push.  I would lean slightly toward Atkins now that he has returned to form from 2 years ago and Vlad is getting old and slowing down.

Your offense will be greatly improved but your pitching will take a major hit.  Which do you prefer or need more, hitting or pitching?  That is what you need to consider.

Take this trade.  A-Rod and Atkins are better than Fielder and Vlad at this point.  It's a push between Harang and Carmona, in my opinion.  Harang will K more people, but Carmona will have better peripherals.  My only question is does it work out for you to add 2 third basemen while giving up an outfielder and afirst baseman?  If the roster spots work out for you, and even if they don't, make the trade.
