Does this guy look like one of those veteran rehab projects that the Patriots keep working on? Seems like he would fit their need for some more bodies in the secondary and could come back.
i have always liked AA and i think that with alot of key/older guys leaving it may wise to give him a look he reminds me of a younger Rodney Harrison it never hurts to give somone a shot
why is it that every player who gets cut will sign with the pats and become awesome. I hope that he signs with the pats and is does what he normally does, suck.
The thing is players, such as Randy Moss, used to be good, but then sucked because they were unhappy with the set-up at whichever club they were at. Moving to the Pats, with their well-renowned team mentality (how many Pats players have you seen "making it rain" or beating their girlfriends recently?) has made the players work as hard as they used and therefore perform as well, if not better, than they used to.
However, Archuleta always sucked - in St Louis he was made to look good due to the strength of the offense and the cover skills of the other DBs. This meant he could make highlight reel plays. In this respect he's like a poor man's Roy Williams - a liability who can make a few plays - except for the fact that Archuleta hasn't had a turnover in two seasons. Joining the Pats wouldn't suddenly mean he could cover WRs or not get beaten by simple moves. I'm glad the Bears cut him so they can reward their best players like Nathan Vasher and invest in some offensive talent.
He played Linebacker at Arizona State and the Rams moved him to Safety.
He never really lived up to expectations there.
I think that if someone does sign him, they should move him back to LB. There have been plenty of undersized guys who have been undersized and played well. Heck look at Brian Bosworth, 6 ft 2, 248lbs. LB size, and he sucked.
Adam Archuleta is 5 ft 11, 215lbs. He played at LB and was moved to safety.
You'd have thought that someone would've moved him back there already.
it does seem like the kind of situtation the pats would take advantage of, but i think all and all it's more than likely he will get signed cheap somewhere and go play back up and actually just be a special teams player.

Archuleta would be ideal for the Pats...he lacks coverage skills but has speed and tackling. with Bill coaching him, he may just become an over achiever like many in that system. they scheme to their strengths and he woul be in a better position to be that impact player that all other teams were suckered into overspending for. I guess everyone forgot he was a linebacker (the fastest on actually) in College which prompted the switch to safety in the NFL.
Archuletta used to be decent with the Rams, but I think his connection to Love Smith from those days is the only reason the Bears gave him a shot. Also the fact that Mike Brown is sooo talented, but is injury prone, probably gave them reason to sign an experienced safety.
To say he has lost a step would be an understatement. Last season with the Bears, he was a huge liability. RB's could juke him and WR's could blow by him. He missed more tackles than he made. Hate to be down on the guy, he has great work ethic and plays hard, but he won't start for anyone at Safety or Linebacker.
