What is it going to take to have Yost replaced. I don't know maybe hitting the pitcher cleanup or leadoff just to get him out of the way. Maybe we are waiting to be in Last place.

I am sorry but this team is not responding to him. It is time to move on. I really don't care if it is Simmons, the triple A coach ,  Don Nelson, or Mike Holmgren that takes over . But we need a change. These games mean as much as the games in September, so as the saying goes "time is a waisting".

I really don't expect Yost to quit, so when we miss out on the playoffs by two games again ,this will be Melvins fault. The person I feel bad for is Mark A. He put his trust in his employees and has spent money when he has been asked to do so. Unfortunately Ned has not used the people that have been put around him wisely.

I have been a Brewers  fan since they came from Seattle. This is not what we all deserve. Maybe the Mets will take Turbow and Yost combined ,he should still be able to hit ninth in the order for his .210 average. I forgot in Neds world that means he should be hitting leadoff.

I am not a Yost fan by any stretch of the immagination.  That said I would give him about another month or 2.  If the Brewers are still hovering around 500 or below it might be time to pull the plug on him.  I have been a fan since the early 80's and I know this team is the most tallented we have had since '82.  I know its early but, something isn't right.

"Unfortunately Ned has not used the people that have been put around him wisely."

LOL..Just how wisely can one use this woeful pitching staff? Yes..Money was spent, but NOT necessarily wisely..

You can bash Yost all you want(and maybe they will fire Yost..just to shake up the team..but there is no way, with the pitching staff pitching the way it is..the Brewers will even be in contention..

I don't care if John McGraw is managing this team

Another month or two would be way too long. It is the managers position to get the most out of his players. I know our staff is having a tough time but I think he has contributed to that. He leaves starting pitchers in too long generally. He also has that habit of pulling his relief guys out after they just had a one , two , three inning so that he can put in his closer. I just don't follow that logic. If a guys just pitched a lights out inning why is he pulled . Also why do we as fans see a starter is struggling in an inning and but left out to hang. I am thinking of the 6 runs by Suppan against the Cubs in the first inning, the many time we have watched Bush or Parra or Villy struggle in the forth , or fifth innings. I just don't understand Yost logic.

I was thinking of posting a thread just like this.  I think Yost takes a ton of the blame as this team has not improved fundamentally at all under his watch.  Small ball is nonexistant, baserunning is still horrible and he continues to be clueless about handling a pitching staff regardless of the quality.  Say what you will about the quality of players Yost has been given, but this is a better team then they have shown over the last two years.  I watch these games and continually see the same fundamental mistakes game after game after game and its not like its second guessing.  Most of us see these mistakes as they are happening, not after looking at the resaults of the descisions.  The Cardinals are throwing journeymen pitchers on the mound game after game and I dont see one bit of quit in that team.

Yes, I said quit.  Watching that game last night, the entire team looked completely uninspired.   I see zero emotion, a bunch of frustrated hitters and scared pitchers.  Something is not clicking between the players and the coaching staff and the players have obviously stopped responding to anything the they are being told.  I'm not saying the team is full of quitters, but they are young and Yost and his staff obviously have no clue as to how you lead a group of young players.  They are undisciplined, uninspired and in shock and this staff has no clue in how to deal with that.

Its time for a change.  Not for the sake of change but becuse one is called for.  This team has too much talent for this to be happening and I believe the players are just sick and tired of the ineptness of this coaching staff.

Think about what you have just said..

The majority of our starters struggle EVERY game to get out of the 5th..as a manager..you have to hope your starters can at least get into the 6th inning..if Yost pulled the starters every time they struggle..our bullpen would explode..

I am NOT defending him..but our pitching staff stinks..

Here's the 2008 pitching staff:

Mota 15 IP 13 Hits 10 BB 1.53 WHIP and hitters are hitting .241 ERA 2.40

Torres 22 IP 21 Hits 8 BB 1.32 WHIP hitters hitting at .263 ERA 2.86

Shouse 10.2 IP 9 Hits 3 BB 1.13 WHIP hitters at .231 ERA 3.38

Riske 17.1 IP 19 Hits 8 BB 1.56 WHIP hitters at .279 with a 5.19 ERA

McClung 11.2 IP 10 hits 9 BB 1.63 WHIP hitters at .238 and a 5.40 ERA

Gagne 14.2 IP 15 hits 10 BB 1.70 WHIP hitters at .263 and a 6.14 ERA(5 Blown saves)

There's your Bullpen..some awful numbers there!

And the Starters(besides Sheets and Gallardo..who is out for the year)

Parra 6 Games started 27.2 IP 38 hits 17 BB 1.99 WHIP and he's getting tagged at a .330 clip with a 5.86 ERA

Bush 4 games started 23.2 IP 27 hits 12 BB 1.65 WHIP and getting hit at a .293 clip with an ERA of 6.46

Villanueva 6 games started 34 IP 41 hits 11 BB 1.53 WHIP and getting hit at a .295 clip with an ERA of 5.56

(Just those 3 starters have started HALF the Brewers games so far..wonder why we're losing yet?)

Suppan 7 game sstarted 39.2 IP 48 hits 14 BB 1.56 WHIP and getting hit at a .304 clip with an ERA of 5.22

Out of 32 games..these four "pitchers" have started 23 of them..with THIS type of starting pitching..do you really expect anything more than a .500 ballclub?

If you are blaming Yost for this pitching staff..explain that one?

This should be good
