I have to ask the PSU fans this question.....Please don't think I am knocking on your school because I am not. But I must ask you guys this question. Do you, as fans, still consider PSU a football school?
based on what? I am not trying to pick a battle here, but PSU hasn't really been a top 10 program year in and year out for about 30 years......And I don't think beating the mid tier SEC schools in bowl games count either. Please understand that I do not consider defeating an SEC school as a litmus test of football prominence....maybe I should. I consider top recruits, a top ten ranking week to week and year to year and maybe finishing higher than fifth place in the big ten. Also, when you really look at PSU's glory years ...well let's look at who they actually played. Take for example 1973. They went 12-0 and finished 5th in the national polls. They played nobody!!! Much the same as now, but at least they beat those schools back then. I almost consider OSU in the same category b/c we haven't beaten an SEC school but at least OSU is winning the weak big ten on a semi regular interval and still recruiting at the highest levels. I guess I am just expressing my desire for PSU to step it up so we big tenners can hold our heads high in the national news media. I know that we buckeyes have some corny traditions but let's be real about PSU and their white out. Every year they get charged up and act like a bunch of soccer hooligans when OSU goes to happy valley only to find that they are woefully outmatched.....again. then their fans urinate on the opposing team's band....WOW.....Also, when are PSU fans going to realize that buckeye fans don't really consider them a rival........
first off, we are a football school, period.
we may not finish in the top 10 every year, and no we are not a national powerhouse anymore, however, there is no school that wants to come here to play.
we have the best fans in the nation, no doubt about it.
we don't care if ohio fans don't think we are a rival becuase we still hate them all. same with michigan.
our tradition is as great as any other school.
we have real academics; sorry ohio staters.
tennessee is not a mid sec school.
minus lloyd carr complaining to the refs at home, we would have been in the natl championship game or a huge bcs debate in 2005 with an undefeated record - including a win vs. ohio state.
wait till this year when we lose no more than 2 games.
Okay...I can see I have ruffled your feathers......but let's be real. PSU has 1 heisman winner and two national titles. I really don't think that most folks around the nation think PSU should be mentioned with the likes of USC, OSU, Michigan, Florida, LSU, Notre dame, Alabama, Nebraska etc......now these schools have tradition. As far as you hating us Ohio staters...well we can live with it. I'm sure the folks from Michigan aren't losing any sleep over coming to play in beaver stadium either....same goes for us... I was there last year when the mighty white out held the buckeye offense to 37 points. I look forward to our next trip to your stadium minus our marching band.....i'm sure you're well aware of your fans peeing on our band. classy!!! At least you're realistic about losing to us and michigan , again.

I also humor at the fact that you forgot to mention that Penn State sent numerous letters of apology, expelled the students that pissed on your band, and paid for the ruined uniforms!
And about the whiteout.... If it was so fake, then how come your beloved Troy Smith thought that it was the coolest thing in the world next to Air Jordans?! Granted, Penn State has had 5 or 6 rough seasons in the last 8, but back in the transition between woody and jim you guys were in the same position we're in.. Dudes....seriously i was just screwing with you guys......i have two friends that played on the 73 undefeated team and i was screwing with them via this website.....we are the best of friends and i as a buckeye respect all that is PSU and the accomplisments of the program and joepa. Don't take anything i said seriously...it was just a joke for my two buds. seriously, i wish you guys the best moving forward and beat meechigan.....
