If you owned the Denver Nuggets who would you rather have as the face of your franchise?  Why?

My reason is that after being in the league now for a few years Melo just does not get it.  He does not want to play any D and is a huge distraction not only to himself but also the players around him.  We all watch AI go through this but Larry Brown made him into a better leader and a better team player.  Melo has been in the JAKES eyes now twice since Mid April and seems to think he can live a ROck-Star life in Colorado.  News flash there Melo:  Slow down and wake up.  Maybe the cops should have let him wake up in Denver City jail,  it is not exactly the Ritz and the food is not Elways.  I would like to David Stern take a stance on Mr. Anthony and show him that being a professional athlete means you must act like a Professional every minute of your life.  There are children who look up to this scumbag for some reason or another.

Melo is still young he needs a coach who can teach him the things he lacks. He is a better talent then AI and AI is older so this is a no-brainer imo. That said, They, AI and Melo need to work it out. they are an amazing offensive duo. they need to work it out together or neither will go anywhere.

Mellow is the better talent now.  However, I agree with you that he needs a strong coach who can force feed him some discipline and get him bought into the ways of a winning program.

I hope he does not tread water his entire career.  He is a strong talent and could be something special if he works hard, stays out of trouble and listens to his coaches

Been a while Yankeefan!

I have to agree with you here and say that I'd rather have AI. Of course Melo is younger, and has great potential, but he really disappointed me in that series vs. the Lakers. Obviously I'm glad he lost, in doing so, he just didn't show the fire and determination needed to succeed in this league. AI has that, Melo doesn't. Will he ever get it? Who knows and until he finds his "marbles", Denver will be a quick 1 and done.

Hello my friend.  I have to agree with you the lack of Testicular fortitude that is needed to be a great player is obvious in Mr. Anthony.  Seems to me that it is quite common in today's athletes and coaches.  The players cry to much and the coaches are to damn afraid to approach them when they get out of control.  Not everybody is a Larry Brown or Phil Jackson.  That being said should the Nuggets get rid of George Karl?

Age notwithstanding, I like Allen Iverson's attitude and the way that he makes sure everyone know he gives everything he has night in and night out.  Carmelo Anthony needs to realize that he has a helluva gift and the NBA isn't just a fun pick-up game.
