Toronto takes two castoffs

Brad Wilkerson has been acquired by the Blue Jays, according to Fox Sports. He was recently cut by the Mariners.  They also picked up Kevin Mench for cash considerations.

This is kind of surprising to me.  I know they were in desperate need of an SS, but I did not think they would be looking at and for these 2 guys.

But JP Ricciardi is a great GM.

low risk pick ups i guess.  anything to generate some kind of offense.  and lind is not showing ANYTHING.

but if they were looking for an impact bat for that line-up they could have had Frank Thomas a few weeks ago when he was released...

LOL......THEY were the ones who released him.............

I guess he thinks Mench has more in the tank than Thomas??? Or perhaps after the Hillenbrandt debacle he just wanted no part of having a malcontent Thomas on the bench gripeing about playing time.....
