The NBA is a complete bore. The best playoffs are in the NHL.

Are the NHL playoffs even on TV? Oh wait, I think I saw a game on the Versus Network or something.....
yes, the final minute of an NBA game can take a while but that doesn't take anything away from the skill level of these guys. The NBA playoffs have been great this season and I'm looking forward to the rest. Doyle is just unhappy 'cause he wasn't athletic enough to play basketball.

Does the NHL have a playoff. I wouldn't know, cause it seems like every team is in the playoffs. The only thing worse than the last minute of NBA basketball is regualr season baseball and any NHL game. Oh yeah, NASCAR sucks too. There can be only one....NFL.

I'll never understand why people say things like "this sport's playoffs are better." Do you like hockey better? I bet you like the NHL playoffs better. Bigger basketball fan? Probably the NBA. It's such apples and oranges, and it's so subjective, why even bother?

Actually, I'm a huge baseball fan. That's the sport I most love to watch in general but when it comes to playoff hockey, I'll watch that over any other sport on TV even if my home team isn't playing. Playoff football is also very entertaining to watch.
For football and hockey, the intensity goes way up in the playoffs which is why those games are the most exciting. Playoff baseball and basketball meanwhile are only a little better than regular season games.

Natch:
If I promise we'll beat Chelsea in the CL final for you, would that make it make it any easier? Or is that going to be a tough pill to swallow no matter what? :)

The NHL is much like Chevy Chase. While I do not dislike him, I am 100% certain that when Chevy is on TV, there is something better on another channel. Therefore, I just can't bear watching him...or in this case, the NHL.

They are a complete bore TO YOU because you probably are a bigger hockey fan than basketball fan (and probably you aren't even a basketball fan)..to me the NBA playoffs are the best thing in sports PERIOD and aren't boring at all, even if the last minute of a game, a close game, takes too long

16 out of 30 is hardly every team. You're only kidding yourself if you think the NFL's playoffs are the best, those games turn into blowouts more often than not. This year's Super Bowl was far from the norm.
There's a reason the Stanley Cup is the most prized trophy in all of sports. The four-overtime game between Dallas and San Jose was amazing. The whole playoffs have been like that.

And in this case, you are 100% incorrect. When the NHL playoffs are on, there is nothing better on any other channel.

Hockey is boring. And unless the goalie is dead or not playing, you dont see more than 3 to 4 goals a game. WOW exciting.............

so true. there are so many more chances for upsets and the hard fought series often ends on an overtime goal. true sudden death. the crowds always get invovled by wearing the home colors for support. and after beating the hell out of each other for 6 or 7 games, they shake hands at the end and wish each other the best.

Everyone here needs to chill for a second. Can't we all just get along? Personally, I'm a sports fan in general. I will say my favorite sport to watch is hockey, but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy other sports as well.
Now, you say there aren't many goals in hockey; I say that makes it more exciting, more unpredictable. Because goals come at a premium, every second of every game means something. One simple mistake can turn the momentum of the entire game or series. In most other sports, a single mistake is much easier to overcome during a game. Over the course of a hockey season, these mistakes tend to even themselves out, but once you get to the playoffs, one bad pass, penalty, or shift change could mean your team is out of the playoffs. And these things can happen to any team, be it in the first round or the Stanley Cup Final . Being a Red Wings fan, I'm more aware of this than most.
And it's a bit of a low blow talking about hockey not being on TV. I firmly believe that moron of a commissioner gary bettman is to blame for this. He has no idea how to market hockey, and he keeps coming up with horrible rules that have no bearing on the game at all (trying to kill a 50+ year red wing tradition of throwing and twirling octopi).

Your comment tells me that you have no idea what you're talking about. 3-4 goals is below average for a game.
