This board could be very quit come Monday moring. Yankees still can't hit lefties and papelbon blows another save for the Red Sox.

despite the late rally at least the Yankees game was never really in doubt for one simple reason -- Kei Igawa was pitching. but IF the Red Sox bats had done their job + managed to drive in runs against the Twins they wouldnt have even needed Jonathan Papelbon tonight -- let alone another Julio Lugo error leading to 2 early twins runs (though early enough where you really couldnt say it decided the game).

as for jonathan papelbon yes i am somewhat concerned at this point for one simple reason: the last time jonathan papelbon blew this many saves on a somewhat consistent basis was around july/august 2006 -- and we all know what happened to his shoulder that september. yes it could be nothing but a few bad breaks in consecitive games (the julio lugo error wednesday, one bad pitch tonight) -- but could it be early signs of shoulder fatigue acting up again??

It wont be too quiet.  Regardless of what happens this weekend, Red Sox fans will continue to start Yankee threads, because a lot of them would rather talk about the Yankees than the Red Sox.

concerned. yes. because of the inconsistent sox bullpen, okijima, is being used soley as a setup man, unlike last year when he would give paps a night or two off. but tonite, on a 3-2- pitch, when paps should have used a fastball, for some reason he went to his slider, i think.....he'll learn. but the Red Sox bullpen, especially middle relief is a concen. it might be comeing aroung though. delcarman might (read:better be) improving. remember, the bullpen is young..they'll still learning....KEEP THE FAITH:)
