I have a friend in the Braves organization, and he said the following trade is imminent.

Hughes / Kennedy / Giambi to the Braves for McCann and Tex, who would both sign long term deals with the Yankees.  Posada would be the DH if / when he gets healthy.

So Smoltz is going to bow to Mo?? Haha!! I would do Kennedy,Igawa and Giambi for Texiera though!! Actually I would just do Igawa for a slow pitch softball pitching machine and a box of sunflower seeds!!!

The Yankees wouldn't trade Giambi. He and Matsui are our offense. Damon is the closest we have to them. Tex is overrated. Dislike McCann. Hate an aging Smoltz. Igawa Betemit and Hughes for Diaz and Infante I would do if we don't have to pay cash. Not sure where Diaz fits in though.

Besides, Giambi has a no trade.  Why would any NL team want him?  He has no glove.

Why would the Braves want to be anywhere near Giambi's contract? Smoltz would pay much more dividends for them to keep as their closer.

Actually, that was three weeks ago.

Now that Smoltz is damaged goods, why would the Yankees give up the farm for him?

Ignore the creator of this thread. Check out his latest posts - he is going from page to page making up "rumors".

WOW, the creator of the thread really doesn't know anything. This isn't basketball or hockey, the Braves aren't looking for an expiring contract, so why would they want Giambi?

This guy Sjkqw might also be as clueless as the evandoconnor. How could you even suggest that we want to keep Giambi? He can't field and he's 5 years past his prime. If you've also watched a Yankee game, they always throw out the stat that we lose more with him in the lineup than we win, and we have over a .600 winning percentage when he hasn't been in the lineup.

To call Teixera overrated also means you don't know anything about him. He's the epitome of a second half player, and besides home runs, he's better than Giambi in every hitting category and he's a much better fielder. He also hits switch which could really help the Yankees. If he doesn't re-sign with the Braves, I guarantee Hank throws the bank at him. He's 28 so he's entering his prime, and he would be deadly with the short porch.

And then there's McCann. First off, why would the Braves trade him after they traded Salty last season? Then sjkqw says he doesn't like him...How do you not like a 24 year old catcher who has 6 home runs, and has a .317 baa? 2 years ago the kid had 24 home runs, 93 RBI's and hit .333.....HOW DO YOU NOT LIKE HIM?!!

And then he said we should trade Igawa, Betemit, and Hughes for Infante and Diaz....Why would the Yankees want another outfielder when we have too many to start with? We have five guys on our roster who can play OF, are you kidding me? Infante had a hard time finding a job this summer, and with Cano, Jeter, and Gonzalez, why would we want another bench player??? Betemit is our utility guy, why would we trade him (he can play any infield position) and if we didn't want to give up Hughes for Santana, why would we trade for two bench players???

I think both evandoconnor and sjkqw should be banned from Yankees posts. You both obviously know nothing about the Yankees or baseball in general.

Now sjkqw is suggesting we start Joba. He's using information about minor league pitchers that he's learned from me, and he still has no clue about how important a set up man is.
