Nothing against the Celts but they don't have a prayer against the Lakers.

I see some very glaring problems with the Celtics. First, they appear to be unable to recoil and play with energy over a series. For this reason, they might not make it to the final. I'm just saying, you must win on the road to win championships. Until they win on the road, I am not predicting good things for the Celts.

Pretzel, you called it right.  Why has Doc made no changes?  This team has no heart on the road.

Really? Not a prayer against the Lakers? Odem can guard Pierce? Gasol can match K.G's athletecism? If the C's can guard Lebron, what makes you think that theyll have trouble guarding kobe? The Lakers bench can match the C's bench?

Thanks

Did anyone hear or see the halftime chat with Bill Russell and KG? The mental focus of players today are less that great. I for one did not see many of the Celtics come to play basketball tonight. With exception of Posey, Garnett, where was the energy and focus?

I do not think you change for the playoffs. Just ask Avery Johnson.  You just might out guess yourself! </td> </tr> </tbody> </table>

==============================================

I don't necessarily disagree with that cmsball20. Sometimes though, you have to try to get a spark from somewhere. Perhaps if House can get hot, Allen and Baby can rebound and create turnovers, you carry that over to when your regulars come back in. The key is to win games. All they need is one to prove they can do it and build confidence. What do you have to lose at this point?

Honestly, how can the confidence of the starters be any lower than it is now? Its to the point now where they just hope they don't get totally embarrassed on the road and wait to come home to actually start playing inspired ball.

Credit to the Cavs and the Hawks for sure, but this Celtics team has looked like a mediocre team on the road so far in the playoffs. Missing wide open shots 5 straight times down the floor, making 1 out of 2 at the line consistently, passing the ball 20 feet from the basket for the first 18-20 seconds of a possession is not going to win them any ball games...guarenteed. Think outside the box. Try anything. This style of play is obviously not working with whom they have out there.

Pretzelboy, you have a good point and I agree that attempting something new would be appropriate. First, start with the inside post game and spread Allen and Pearce. You and I agree that dribble and motion offense is creating problems with getting good shots. Second, stop going with Casell and allow more freedom for the play of Rhondo. Did you see the regular season, these were the staples of the offense. Third, the Celtics have to back to hard nose DEFENSE. With thest three items the bench will get to play as well.

A few upfakes inside wouldn't hurt either. I have never seen a team get blocked 2 feet from the basket more than the Celtics the last 2 games. They didn't draw a foul shot until 5 minutes left in the 2nd quarter.

amploud, I agree that at this point it is pointless to get into a who is better dispute, their is not a team in the playoffs without it's weaknesses.

Another point, LeBron has his swagger back and we know what he can do when that happens. This is definitely not the Hawks and if they do not win game 4 watch out for the Cavs for they just might win the series. I have some faith this series can be won by the Celtics but afraid the clock strikes 12 next round. It takes time for a team to develop into a tested and successful playoff team.

A couple glaring problems with the celts, first is Paul Pierce, his +/- for this game was -32! -32!  He's been awful this whole series.

Then is Rondo, all year I have heard how great Rondo is looking.  The poster previous to me mentions how he should play more.  Play more?  With the 20-25 minutes he's playing he has been absolutely horrid.  A liability.

The defense on LJ is great, but you gotta do a little more.  Like not let West have a career night.

Lastly, this game was the second hardest to watch of the playoffs, with the first being game one of this series.  Hell, I'll take a Pistons/Spurs series over this any day.  Watching one team run isolation after isolation, and another play one on one as well.  Both coaches should be shot.

Mckracken, yes a liability playing stand around basketball but he is at his best slashing and kicking. This is not your classic point guard but he was starting guard most of the season. I just do not understand why the Celtics are going to more one on one basketball v. going with their strengths in Garnett and Allen.

Nice to see my Cavs finally wake up. (Sorry, guys. Nothing against the C's).

Even nicer to see LeBron get some help in the scoring dept. And from Delonte West of all people. If they keep getting 4 and 5 guys in double figures, they could upset Boston.

Cavs outplayed, outhustled and out shot my  C's today. No excuses. Took the early elad, and kept stepping on the gas. Thats how you win.

Doc needs to figure it out with this group of guys and get them to play loose.  If the Celts lose game 4, thats it. They will not win a road game in the playoffs. At some point, you'll just have it in your head that you can't get it done and they have to be close to that point now I don't believe them when they say their confidence is shaken on the road yet. It has to be somewhat.

Their only hope then becomes keeping up the intensity to win 16 home games. 1 loss at home, and they are done.
