	The Detroit Tigers future ace Rick Porcello last years # 1 pick is being out done by a teammate. Rick Porcello 2-4 1.98 era 1.02 whip 22k and 12 bb in seven starts is pretty good. But Luis Marte 3-1 1.54 era .91 whip 35k and 10 bb in six games is really turning heads. Marte was one of those Dominican Republic kids signed without going through the draft. He spent last season at low A West Michigan as a reliever posting a 2.83 as a reliever but has been switched to a starter . Needs to be more consistent on the road has given up 5 runs in 2 road games and only 1 in 4 home games.

	Nice newsy scoop. It's good to hear. It will take some of the focus off of Porcello, especially with the fans aching for some consistency on the mound up at the parent club. So there really are some up and coming pitchers in the minors! We will be O.K. in the next couple of years. The big question mark is what is going to happen this year?! Go figure.

	Its good to know, we will probally need them both before the season is over. How did our pitching get so bad so fast? It looks like Rogers is turning it around, now we just need the rest of them to follow.

	as far as i'm concerned its way to early to tell who is gonna be more sucsessful in the major leagues i hope they can develop together and get better together and come up and win us alot of games in the years to come. I still believe that Rick Porcello will be better in the long run.

	It's hard to say. remember all the rating organizations like Baseball America and the others don't rate young Latin prospects as they aren't in the draft. So its up to organizations to sign these guys and have scouts to find them. Since there is no draft there is no reason to rank them. Another good outing tonight by Porcello (5 ip, 3h 0r) to lower his era to 1.74. I have a feeling both these guys get moved up to AA by the break.
