Tide football player from Huntsville arrested

A.J. Walker, a walk-on wide receiver at Alabama who played at Huntsville High, was arrested Friday and charged with public intoxication.

The arrest was listed on the Tuscaloosa County sheriff department's Web site. Walker is being held on $300 bond.

Walker was a freshman last year and redshirted.

He is the ninth player and third walk-on to be arrested since coach Nick Saban was hired in January 2007.

And yes, I do like throwing rocks!  I especially like skipping them across the lake.

I don't recall seeing a thread on the board about which BCS conference leads in the "most arrested" category.  Just my sick sense of curiosity at work.

I meant to also say that my guess would be that the SEC would be up there.  I know my UT Vols have had their fair share of trouble with Barney.

Hence The Almighty Fulmer Cup -

And no, the SEC doesn't even appear in the top 5.

I have not seen or heard of the Fulmer Cup before.  Funny stuff.

If it is indeed true, then it is an extremely sad story about the Florida player using the credit card.

Let me get this straight, Meyer at Florida and Saban at Alabama, two of the best recruiters in CFB and yet, they are responsible for two of the most punished programs when it comes to players getting busted in some form or another, whether tick-tack or serious. Hmmmmm...... yep, must be the good, ethical and moral coaching these coaches provide. ; )

Just havin' fun, ez, dj Jazzy-Z, it is Mother's Day weekend, enjoy.

KNUT,

THis is a little ridiculous, do you know how easy it is to get a Public Intox ticket? It means nothing, other than you had a drink then walked outside, doesnt matter how much you drank only that you had a drink. Obviously this kids was probably wasted, Why shouldnt he be allowed to, I can think of much worse things the kid could be doing.  cut him some slack.

Ohhh Nooooo, Boy, you pegged me!  You must know me too well and LSU is just stacked with so many problems right now I can barely keep track of them.....Pffffffff.

Boyd,

Just skipping some stones your way friend.  I picked up a Public Intox arrest when I was in college myself.  The only time I've ever had a run in with the man and the charges were dropped as they usually are with 95% of all Public Intox charges.  Course if he's under age that changes everything except the that it shouldn't affect the rest of the team at all.  Just adds to the Fulmer Cup standings.

But you know me, gotta report the news as I see it.

I must say that the whole idea of the TCPD posting it on their website is a little too far.  I dont think too many people would enjoy something like that.

I cant really argue whether or not this was legit or not, because it probaby was since no one in their right mind would guss this kid was on the football team.  I still think Simeon's and Rashad's disturbing the peace or whatever petty crap they got arrested for was just for their name, especially since both of them were the only ones arrested in both situations from what was apparently big ordeals each time.

As for this kid, probably just out celebrating the end of exams on Friday and if I had to guess walked into the Publix parking lot on the Strip (where there are always cops), stumbling around and they got him.  If that is the case, he should be kicked off the team because the team has put a ban on any player going down to the Strip.

Speaking of the Strip, cant wait for the Houndstooth to reopen, its going to be fricking huge.
