I wouldn't go that far with it. He's pretty terrible on the defensive end, but you can't say he's the worst in the NBA. He just doesn't have the physical ability to guard a lot of point guards in this league. He's using his strengths on offense by getting by our defenders with quickness. All that said unless the Magic get an excellent defender at the SG position that can guard both PG and SG Nelson shouldn't start for them, he's just too much of a liability on the defensive end and doesn't make up for it that much on the offensive. I'd say he'd be a pretty good backup PG, the Magic just don't have anyone else to put out there.

His team backed into a 3-1 corner in the Eastern Conference semifinals, Orlando Magic guard Jameer Nelson guaranteed a Magic victory when the series returns to Detroit on Tuesday.

That was the dumbest thing any Magic player could of done. It just adds fire to Detroit which is not what Orlando needs. Detroit is going to want to blow them out of the water now, and they wont settle for less.

Jameer Nelson is one of the worst starting point guards in basketball.Well, he puncked Ford and Calderon. He punked suckey x2. You are so smart McClit.
No, it is exactly 3-1.
Talking about the games themselves mcCLit. You bombed us in game 1, you won because a bullsh*t three gave you the oppertunity to shoot free throws in game two, we negated game one3 bu puking you in game 3. Game 4 was decided by 1 point. It's not like you guys have dominated the Magic.
And you, are a moron to state anything regarding what Stuckey will or will not do based on one year as a rookie, on a deep team
First, He has o jump shot. Name one guard in the NBA that is succesful without a jumper????? Maybe Andre Miller, but he is a good defender. Second, how does Detroit being a deep team effect how good he is??????
in a season where he missed the first 25 games no less).
You've played 67 games since then. I'm pretty sure he's okay now and again, how does that have any affect on whether he's good????
I'm not saying Stuckey will be an all-star, but alot of people who get paid to watch games seem to think so.
Ever start to think that those guys are wrong most of the time???????
Ex. Patriots will win the super bowl by two TD's. haha
Ex2. Celtics will sweep ATL or win in 5.
Ex3. After Toronto won game 3, most analysts were picking them to win the series.
Ex4.KG should be mvp. hahahahahaha.

I agree, Nelson is a solid PG but he cant improve his game much more,
Dude, he's 26. I'm pretty sure he can improve his game. Can Chris Paul imrpove his game?????
Stuckey has the size to be great on offense and on D, and the strength as well as speed
Shaun Livingston has size too. BUST!!!! At this point, stuckey plays 0 defense, or he's just terrible at it. He needs a bettter jumper though to make the next step.
Lets finish this in the D in 5
Hopefully not, haaha. If ORL can steal game 5, I think they can win a home, the question is, (IF the they could win back-to-back) do they have the energy to win again in DETROIT. Every game in this series except for 1,3 could have gone either way. Serieses that are as close as this one can go either way in the remaining games.

Other than rasheed, who on the Pistons ever shows emotion????????????????? I'm not saying they're a bad team, they're a great team, but they really play a robotic style.
This series has been so close that I think the Magic can possibly, maybe, hopefully pull this off. I doubt it but I know that fans of either team remember when this series was 3-1 the other way.
Just a though, I'm biased, but Mareesse Speights out of Florida, I think would fit Orlando's system and fill the PF spot. He can rebound and has a good offensive game. Shaky on defense, but he can spread the floor a bit and add a rebounder other than Dwight.
Piston Fans: Lay off of Jameer. You keep saying his size is a bad thing. You keep saying his defense is a bad thing. You also keep sayiing how great Stuckey is... McCLIT.
- Chris Paul is the same size as Jameer. Jameer is a lot stronger. I'm not saying better, but by saying he can't be affective because of his size, yoou're saying that CP3 won't continue to be succesful.
- His defense is not the greatest but let's look at the last game. Stuckey had 6 points and Hunter had 8. That's not bad defense if you ask me
- suckey plays no defense. He takes too many shots and doesnt sink all that many. unless, he gains a better jumper, I don't see him becoming anything other than a back-up.

Not sure why people keep saying the Magic need a SG. What they really needed for this playoffs was Tony Battie healthy. Shard moves to SF and Turk slides to SG.
What the Magic really need is a solid starter at PG. Nelson makes a GREAT backup but only a mediocre starter.
Anyway, it ain't over yet but congrats to the Pistons and their fans. It looks like you'll be heading to the ECF for the 6th straight year barring some sort of complete melt down. Man that is crazy to think about 6 straight years in today's NBA is very impressive.
As for the Magic? At the begining of the season most Orlando fans goals went like this
1. Finish with 50+ victories. Goal accomplished!
2. Get home court advantage in the opening round. Goal accomplished!
3. Get past the first round. Goal accomplished!
4. DO NOT GET SWEPT BY THE PISTONS!!! Goal accomplished!
They're still alive BARELY but whatever happens from here on out, I'll still be pleased with this season. Who knows what could have happened with a healthy Battie for the season? Plus the Magic got one thing they needed more than anything PLAYOFF EXPERIENCE...other than being swept!!!!
I'll be watching to see how hard the Magic come out and play in Detroit. Even if they lose I'll still be happy if they come out hard and make a battle of it. The future is bright for Orlando.
2008-2009 line up:
C - Dwight who's still getting better
PF - Battie or someone even better
SF - Lewis back to his natural position
SG - Turk will create matchup problems
PG - Nelson or someone even better
Keep your heads up Magic fans we're gonna be very good for a long long time!

". It almost seems like they enjoy getting boo'ed"
Sheed has said several times that he injoys being the villain, so yeah, you are probably right. The Pistons have been pretty consistently good on the road.
As to why I feel the way I do about Jameer Nelson, a couple reasons. For starters, he is a total liability on defense. Second, he is a poor passer, given the shooters Orlando has, and Howard in the middle, this guy should be looking at 12 assists a game. At times I have felt maybe Arroyo should start, but hhe actually plays less defense and though a good passer, tends to get too fancy. He would be a good energy guy off the bench, for quick instant offense, but beyond that, he is just not what they need. What they really need is a good "floor general". A guy that can hit the shot when necessary, but is mostly lookingto run the offense.

bucfan, you serve no purpose here except to interrupt the conversations of people that, not only know much more about basketball than you, but have enough class to try to discuss the game without lowering themselve to inflammatory crap. Everyone on here is discussing the game in a civil tone, yet you insist on interrupting it with your incessant crying about elbows and flops. Your points are totally unbalanced, and lack anything resebling fact to back them up.
Regarding your baseless STuckey predictions, the guy is a rookie who torched your team for 19 points, in the playoffs, after having a limited role all year, end of story. Your coach was praising him, and again he is a rookie learning the hardest position to learn. Sorry, you are making a baseless prediction on a guy that nearly everybody who watched him play drools over. He had six points in the game he started... yeah, who won that game?
Winning is what matters, at the end of the day, stat lines mean nothing if you are on the losing team, and in this case, you are rooting for the losing team. Have some of the games been close, sure, they should be, it's round two of the playoffs. No one has come in here and stated Orlando sucks, merely that the Pistons are a better team. At this point, the record shows that.
All the other Orlando fans, regardless of the outcome, your team has a bright future if they can hold it together while picking up a couple pieces. It's tough to do this in this era of max contnratc expectations, and lack of loyalty, but Howard seems like a class act to build around. And to the lone guy left o here behavingn like an insolent child, perhaps you would be better suited rooting for the Cavs, you seem to fit in with their fans.

Dang, I can't believe I forgot about Tony. The only thing is, this injury kept him out this season, so you don't know how effective he can be.
That would be a good line-up. Seriously guys, Jameer has played so well this post-season but everybody says it's time to move on. He's 26 and has played solid this post-season. He's shown that he can be very effective when he is included in the offense.
I still think that PF/C should be the main focus in the draft because Howard can play either and we still need a second rebounder.
I really got on Gortat's case earlier in the series, but he has actually looked a little better and maybe has some promise to him
