I sure as hell hope so, or else I can see a major fire sale going down. Actually I can see a fire sale happening if we are still pretty far out of it come June or July.

I Think I enjoy some good reportaire with most Met fans ... the one prabale exclusion being Sal. Hey we all love our teams, and sometimes it is difficult to look at them without the rose colored glasses. When you get to step back and look at what others write about your team...sometimes your first instinct is anger, but after looking it it a couple times, sometimes you'll also concede they may be right.

Yes, it is. It is still one of the greatest team accomplishments in the history of sports. Yeah making the playoffs 14 straight years is great....13 early exits? Not so great....haven't won a playoff series since 2001....not so great.....

As far as I'm concerned, a little good smack talking is part of the game. And recently, there have been more than enough things about the Mets that a Braves, Phillies, Marlins, or any other team's fans can take advantage of. The Mets are 18-15 and I doubt that is where many people, particularly many Mets fans, expected them to be. So there's a lot of material there and Mets fans can either deal with it or whine.
But when the smack talking amounts to nothing more than "ESPN wants the Mets to win it all", or any other BS conspiracy theory, then the poster is just a consummate moron and would be better off keeping that fact hidden.
Besides that, if you want to talk smack, at least try to be a little clever. That means you need to come up with something besides mentioning that Aaron Heilman gave up another home run. Some folks on here don't need to write posts anymore. They can just include a link to their last post since they are always the same.
That being said, I hope the NL East Smack Fest continues all year, because with a few exceptions, it's been really entertaining.

"Yeah making the playoffs 14 straight years is great....13 early exits? Not so great....haven't won a playoff series since 2001....not so great....."
This is the reason I dislike Red Sox fans. Look at this. They've won 2 championships in 4 years and all of a sudden they're the judge of what is an accomplishment and what isn't. Nevermind they get beat on by the Yankees most seasons, which is a more true determinant of a team's ability level. Never mind they went 86 years without sniffing a championship. What the Braves did was an unprecedented accomplishment. No one has come close. And it wasn't a bad division, either, for a lot of it.
Red Sox fans are becoming as unsufferable as Yankees fans. Your probably the one bitching when a Yanks fan says "26".

I am a Met fan and there is two players in the MLB that I cannot stand (besides the whole Yankees starting lineup):
The 2 Met killers (I am sure every Met fan knows who I am talking about...)
Pat Burrell
and
Larry "Chipper" Jones
If you look at their numbers against the | |
