To me yes and with Olson back it will only get worse.

1. The lack of heart and desire there is awful, they consistently play no D and wether Olson is there or not this is only getting worse.

2. The Oneill debacle was embarrassing.

3. Pastner the backbone behind all there recruiting success id rumored to be going to Memphis, and Olson is doing nothing to stop it???

4. Miles Simon, hero of 97 was let go by Olson in a very cowardly way, no explanation and not even face to face.

5. Losing there two best players, and then the replacement is the perfect picture of what is wrong in Zona, Brandon Jennings. This kid is a selfish ball hog who plays no D, the last thing they need as there team leader is another kid like this.

I know talking b-ball is not the thing to do on here, thought i would at least try.

Not bashing Zona either, i want back the old rivalry we had with them, but it is time to clean house and the out of touch Olson needs to go.

I have a few opinions on the matter, but I'm busy on another thread describing my favorite sandwich.

Last year was a debacle for sure.  Olson's personal life, O'Neil's wildly diiferent style of play (as opposed to Lute's), a slew of injuries, a won-loss record that was frighteningly close to .500, O'Neil eventually getting kicked to the curb, etc., etc., etc.

That said, Arizona still appears to be bringing in some big time recruits.  Their recruiting class this year looks to be great (from what I've seen), and I hear that Sidney kid (a top rated 09-10 recruit) is looking at U of A as well.

I guess we'll see what Olson does this next season, but the talent still seem eager to play for ol' Lute.  I frankly wish some of these McDonald's All-American's would look at UNLV instead.

Olson and his personal life is a distraction, he is a different man now.

Sidney is a heavy Ucla lean right now, and jennings will only create more chemistry problems for Zona next year.

I read an article on Rivals in which Sidney mentioned U of A as being a team of great interest to him.

So I'm not so sure he's as heavy a lean as you might believe him to be...at least not at this (very, very early) point

As a die hard Arizona fan, I can honestly say the jury is out.  However, this didn't start last year, it began when we blew a 14 point lead in the Elite 8 against Illinois in 2005.  That being said, heres are my take on your points...

1. Olson has never been a defensive genius.  The team did play better defense last year under O'Neill, unfortunately for the kids O'Neill stuck with man-to-man, regardless of the situation.  This meant that we were too tired to play a run and gun offense, and that the opposition ALWAYS knew what they were facing.

2. Embarrassing indeed.

3. Might be good in the long run for Pastner and the UofA.  Get some experience with a white hot team right now, learn everything he can from Calipari, and come back to take the lead role when Lute does leave.  Admittedly, recruiting will suffer in the meantime.

4. Don't know of all the details on this, Miles was a great player, and will always hold a spot in our hearts, but I don't know how much he really contributed as a coach.

5. Budinger isn't gone yet, and I think he will be around for his Junior year.  I don't know where you get the idea that Jennings is a ball hog.  His whole goal in the McDonalds AA game was to break the assists record.

We will lack depth next year again, for sure.  I think Withey and Jennings will contribute right away, and look for Horne to play meaningful minutes off the bench, or possibly even starting if Chase starts at the 2 spot and Wise comes off the bench (assuming he doesn't transfer).

Trying to be objective here....I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the UofA doesn't win another tournament game under Lute, then again I wouldn't be shocked to see them in the Sweet 16 or Elite 8 in the next 2 years either.  This is a team that really is on the brink and the chips can fall either way, they have the potential, I'm not doubting Lute just yet, it just all needs to come together.  We'll have to wait and see if that will happen....

theres a problem with that Axzcats hedoes not play any d and only cares about the stats if he get 5 assists in first half he will turn down lay-ups to pass and get another assist and from what i have seen he takes horrible shots. You can have Jennings i would take anderson or holiday in a heart-beat over Jennings.

Not bashing Zona eitherYes you are. Don't do something and then say you're not doing it. Just be a man and own up to your comments.
1. The lack of heart and desire there is awful, they consistently play no D and wether Olson is there or not this is only getting worse. This is something you never leave out of any statement you make about Arizona. There have been bad stretches of basketball recently. There is no denying that. But the team plays with more heart than you give them credit for.
2. The Oneill debacle was embarrassing. For the AD it was. There are changes being made. It's a turbulent time in that athletic department. I guess you could say it's embarrassing. I can't really argue that. But as long as the teams get back to being competitive I don't really care. There are worse things that happen, like what happened in Indiana or now over at USC. Stuff happens and is forgotten as soon as games play out. If Olson loses with new players then this stuff will continue.
3. Pastner the backbone behind all there recruiting success id rumored to be going to Memphis, and Olson is doing nothing to stop it???You're right, Josh Pastner is the backbone behind all of the recruiting success at Arizona.
4. Miles Simon, hero of 97 was let go by Olson in a very cowardly way, no explanation and not even face to face.It was a one-sided argument written by a questionable character himself. I think it would be nice if a journalist would at least attempt to contact the person they are smearing in an effort to allow them a chance to comment or provide their side of the story.
5. Losing there two best players, and then the replacement is the perfect picture of what is wrong in Zona, Brandon Jennings. This kid is a selfish ball hog who plays no D, the last thing they need as there team leader is another kid like this. He's so bad that he's the consensus #1 high school point guard in the country and won the Naismith high school player of the year award. That's the last thing Arizona needs. Keep coming up with reasons why he's a terrible addition to the team, we as Arizona fans are happy to have him.
but it is time to clean house and the out of touch Olson needs to go.Yeah, you're right. It was great last season without him. We all want him to leave. He's out of touch because he keeps recruiting at an elite level and keeps going to NCAA Tournaments year-after-year.
