Lets finish this up in 5,not a smart move by Nelson, youd like to catch detroit off guard at home after coming off a big win, not give them something to get hyped on.
Where did you guys hear that he guarenteed the victory? Had family in town, so I've been missing out on my NBA news

Another thing I meant to mention. I think the Magic vs Pistons is going to turn into a heated rivalry. You think its bad on this message board, its a lot worse in person. Magic fans are not big on hearing someone scream Detroit basketball over and over again! And it definitely showed on Saturday

It's been all over ESPN and the other sports networks Magnum. I was surprised myself when I heard he guaranteed a win in Detroit. It is a must win game for them, so it's kind of a given that they have to win this game.
Not a smart move though because as other have mentioned, you don't want to get the Pistons fired up. It's better to keep quiet and sneak up on them. I think the Magic will play another good game tomorrow, but with that guarantee by Jameer, I'm fairly confident we will close out the series in Game 5.

It's just not Jameer Nelson , it is also Rashad Lewis ... Nelson said I gaurantee we win in game 5 in Detroit. Then again what eles is he gonna say I think we are going to lose , of course if he came out and said I believe we are going to lose I wouldn't want him playing on my team, also for his gaurantee its a no win situation for him if they come out and win he looks like a genius, if they lose the Pistons move on and his statement will be all forgotten after a day or 2.
As for Rashad Lewis, after losing game four and going down 3 games to one he came out and said I still believe we are the better team out there.
The Magic should just keep quite and play not give anyone any more motivation.

OK, Orlando earned a game in this series, lets not let the grab another. Lets get over this speed bump in the road... We need a win, then to rest our legs and hope Boston/Cans go seven.

Detroiters are especially on this magnum b/c it was all in the Detroit Free Press Sunday. I read it then. Maybe not a guarantee, but they (jameer and lewis) sure aren't ready to show any respect for detroit.
hey, that's what makes it interesting huh? i wouldn't expect them to like us so i'm not too upset by it.

Maybe not a guarantee, but they (jameer and lewis) sure aren't ready to show any respect for detroit. Not sure if its the right way to go about things. But I'm glad there confident and arent just gonna lay down. I wish they had this attitude all series and maybe we wouldn't be down 3-1. As someone that watched almost every Magic game this season, at times they seemed a little too nice. Nick Anderson (Former Magic Player) said it best "Choir boys dont win Championship. Maybe after this series the Magic will get a "mean streak" to them. Something we have been lacking all season. I'm looking forward to game 5

I'm actually worried about the whole city thinking the series is over. Hope it doesn't rub off on the players. Each game has been contested that the Pistons won so I hope the players don't look past this series. It's not over till it's over and billups is still hurt.

I get so tired of hearing this "oooooh, a guaranteed win...now you're firing (insert player or team name here) up!!"...." Don't give (xxx) any more motivation"......etc, etc. Sickening, I tell you my players better play that motivated ALL THE TIME...it's the friggin playoffs. Who cares if I guarantee a win and someone gets mad? I'm just showing my belief in myself and my team...they're just words. It ain't gonna make the crappy team all of a sudden become world beaters and vice versa...................sheesh.
That said, I think Detroit has a lot of good things going for it, good front office, some great players...unfortunately you have Sheed, and that dude will never be anything but a self-centered loser to me. Mr. "Cut the Check" may play nice when he can win HIMSELF a ring or two...but his myopic view of the world and the fact that it orbits around him will surface much more frequently in the future, believe that. Total lack of class...I like Detroit too...I would just like 'em more without that cancer.
Orlando is outmatched...but an up and coming team. Boston will have it's hands full with Detroit, may be the highlight of the playoffs... :)

let's not forget one thing here. game 4 was a nailbiter but wasn't Detroit missing their all-star point guard? probably would not have been that close had he played
If he is in the game, hamilton ain't touchin the ball every possession. I'll take my chances with Chauncey that is good at hitting those mid-range shots compared to Hamilton who looks automatic when he takes the mid-range jumpers.
would orlando win in detroit if they had to sit one of their all-stars?
Their only all-star this year was Dwight. With the way he played in game 4, they could've afforded to sit him. haha. JP.
i keep seeing references to the shot clock issue. if that shot did not count does not mean orlando wins the game. if that was the case, then we can say that if chauncey played in game 3, we would have won. there is no proof in either instance
I'll try to give proof. For the clock, if that shot wouldn't have counted, which i shouldn't have, the Maic would have been up by 1 instead of down by two and they'd have been shooting FT's instead of Billups and hamilton. Not a guaruntee, but it definetly played a huge factor in that game.
Now Billups' injury. If he was playing, he would not have guarded Rashard Lewis who just took over that game. Also, Stuckey scored 19. 25 points is a lot of points to say that one player would have made a difference.
this is not orlando's year but it is definitely a good stepping stone
Weren't you guys down 3-1 to us a few years back. Don't get so cocky. You don't know what will happen.
nelson is not great but he doesnt have to be on this team. he needs to distribute the ball a little bit better especially inside.
I agree. Because of his height, they usually have Turk feed it down low. Instead of giving to Dwight and making him make a move, through it near the rim and hope he can oop JP again.
i really admire the 3 point shooting but sometimes they get a little too carried away.
3 poinr shooting has not been the issue. It's actually kept us in a few games.
lets end this thing in 5 and get chauncey healed for the next round.
If you don't, this could really turn into a stickey situation for you. Against Toronto, we stole game 4 and fed off the Amley crowd and were able to finish them off. You are in that position now, but if you lose, Orlando is then in that position and can very easlity even it off at 3-3. I doubt it, but they haven't given up yet, or at least they sound like they haven't.
Go Magic!!!!

Rip plays with a lot of emotion, and so does McDyess.
And KempzKidz, Rasheed Wallace might be one of the most team-oriented players in the NBA. Were you really serious when you said that? He's also one of the most well liked players in the NBA by his peers. Just because he gets ticked off and complains about calls doesn't mean he's selfish. He's possibly the most unselfish player on that team.

I'll give you Mcdyess. Him throwing Dwight down for no reason pretty much proved that. Still don't know how Dwight got a T.
riC does not play wit any emotion, except when he flops and complains. Other than that he plays a robotic style. It's effective but robotic.
What I really meant was a guy that could just get fired up like a Rasheed or well no one is even close to him, but you get the idea

"dude will never be anything but a self-centered loser to me."
Sheed is one of the most unselfish players in the game. Ask anyone who has ever played with him.
