After absolutely nailing the All-NBA team, the NBA messes up rather royally on the All-Defense Team. The First team is:
Kobe, KG, Bowen, Camby, Tim Duncan.
Bowen would be the first to tell you that he doesn't belong there any longer (Shane Battier who was my vote for DPOY OBVIOUSLY should be there.)
Tim Duncan over Josh Smith is the old name over game vote but it comes as a bit of an insult to the basketball world as Timmy did not have his best season (he's still probably the greatest PF in history, but this was just not his season.)
And I have been squawking about this for years now but, how can Camby be a perennial contender for DPOY? He gets garbage help blocks on the WORST DEFENSIVE TEAM IN THE NBA!!!!!!!!!! Dwight Howard is a monster, dominates the Boards and intimidates the other team. So he doesn't pick up the blocks that Camby does because Howard's opponents aren't even going to put the ball up against him. You can't win the MVP putting up huge numbers on a trash team and you should not be able to win the DPOY while putting up huge numbers on a bad defense.
The team should be:
Kobe, KG, Howard, Josh Smith, Battier.

Kobe, KG, Howard, Josh Smith, Battier.
I agree with that team....
These guys that pick the teams are the same DUMB media outlets that suck on Kobe and LeBron. I really feel like we (posters) have more knowledge for the game than the espns, and cbs' of the world.
I'm just happy Tayshaun Prince made 2nd team!

I'm sure in the next day or two-- folks will find fault with Kobe being on here; and how CP3 should be on the 1st team. Just another laundry list of awards for Kobe.....
Lakers in 6 or 7.
p.s. Laker bench, we need U to show the hell up, and Gasol needs to get his **** together too.

As Tay should - excellent defender! That would be the first individual award for any Piston this year, yes?

I can understand NBA for messing up - but you guys...
How does everybody forgets Rajon Rondo??
It's obvious that league has put only one guard in first defensive lineup to squeeze in Duncan, Bowen and KG, and it's absolut BS. The kid is superb on ball defender, you can find any better than him at his position. Statistically, Chris Paul comes to arguement, but Rondo deserves to be acknowledged for his effort and dedication on D. If he can't get to First DTeam, he has to belong with the 2nd unit.
I agree on Battier over Bowen, but I don't think Josh Smith was better than Duncan this year.
As far as centers are concerned, Dwight Howard and Rasheed Wallace. Pick one, I'm find with it.
I would go with:

Sorry for the grammar and the hit on you guys, I was pissed with the NBA. True defenders rarely get enough credit.

I'm a Kobe fan and stuff, but I think Raja Bell should have been 1st team.

Anyone who thinks Camby is overrated doesn't know basketball. Tim Duncan is a mostly a help defender(although not as good as Camby) and not a 1on1 guy like people seem to believe for some reason. Camby is the better than anyone in the league at guarding the rim. There are very very few big men who are primarily 1on1 guys, the only great one being KG.
BTW, what happened to Ron Artest, he was the most dominant perimeter/1on1 defender I've seen since MJ, but he has just dropped off the map.
Kobe in 1st team is a stretch. He is a very good on ball defender, but what makes him that way is his consistency and not his overall ability. He is also a poor off ball defender.
Shane Battier flops way too much to be on the team.

. Tim Duncan is a mostly a help defender(although not as good as Camby)LOL wow you are the first person I have ever heard say Camby is better than Duncan, wth are you smoking bro I gotta get me some of that. Your ability in help defense is not measured by how many shots you block dude, Duncan creates fear in his oponents, Camby creates the knowledge they have to pumpfake to score.
You know you do have some of the strangest ideas I have seen on here presented rationally Specketa... idk if thats good or bad
