I thought this was lost gone but look what i found!!!!!!!!
Remember when dook was chastised for saying that App State was going to get into the endzone and score two TD's against Michigan, and hold them to under 40?
DetBlueDemon: Michigan will consider a win in this game, by less than 28 points, to be the equivalent of a loss to a conference foe. You might not like hearing it, but it's a fact. Michigan blanks the Mountaineers this weekend en route to a 40-0 victory. All we hear all year as people talk about Michael Hart and Mario Manningham for Heisman is, "but a ton of those yards/touchdowns came against App. State".
chicago107: The Wolves may be stacked on offense this year, but they lost a GREAT deal on defense. Yes, they have the players to fill those holes, but it will take a few games for that group to gell. Because of that, they will give up some yards and points to a good App State squad. But you don't really feel they can win, do you Dook?
GoPackGo226: If App St hold Michigan under half a hundy consider it a moral victory. 59-3 is my prediction
goodfellas31: Your out of your mind and your just being a basic homer if you think this game will even be close. Michigan has one of the best offenses in the country. And a young but still pretty good defense. Theyre ranked #5 (should be 2 or 3) for a reason. And Appalaichan State isnt ranked for a reason becasue they suck. So dont keep your hopes up that your pathetic team scores more than 10 points.
dookisevil: Well I think App State will hold Michigan to under 50 no problem, and I think my Mountaineers will score more than a mere field goal
utahman2: Not many people gave Boise State a chance versus Oklahoma last season either! I would not go so far as to predict an Outright Appalachian St. victory but they may be able to keep the score respectable!
DetBlueDemon: They've got no business stepping into a top tier BCS stadium and they're going to find that out very early on Saturday. It really won't be respectible. Unless you feel 40-0 is respectible.
tbear7721: I will say 50-13, Michigan will pull its starters early in the second half. Carr doesnt like to beat teams up too bad, although 50-13 is pretty bad it could be a lot worse.
dookisevil: I truly don't think Michigan will break out of 40.
tbear7721: The only way they wont break 50 is if they pull their starters
bceagle: Will the Wolverines win? Yeah, probably. Will the Mountaineers show that they can play with D-1A competition? I'm going with 33-13 as the score in this one. Michigan will take App. St. too lightly in the beginning before realizing that although the Mountaineers are 1-AA, they still play football.
kburjr: One thing App State will do is score and show that Michigan does noy have a defense to speak of. As for a D-I team beating a BCS div team, iy could definitely happen. I don't think so in this game, but I am betting App State with the points!!
colosportsfan: Gimme a break. I am sure you have a good 1AA team, but playing Meeeshigan is like sending USC to play the Colts and say it will be competitive. IN Ann ARBOR!?!?! If they dont lay 70 on you it will only because they are playing their scrubs in the second half.
manny hit hr: Michigan 42-6
greatbenji: Appalachian St. will score at least 2 times. If they score 3 times or more I'll be surprised. I don't know about the App. St, but if they stop Michigans offense on the first drive and get some momentum they might be able to keep it within 2 touchdowns. Then again they MIGHT(odds of 100000000-1)win. App. St. beating Michigan, Ripley's wouldn't believe that ish
CuseWarEagle: Dook, the only outcome I can see is a huge blowout. GoPack's 59-3 score seemed pretty reasonable. I'm sure they'd put up a good fight against some lower-echelon Big Ten teams but Michigan will be way too overpowering. I do not expect a 70 point win but anything under 45 would surprise me.
Bob_and_Al: 30-10 would warrant goalpost removal in Boone IMHO
Lowcald: Usually Michigan is pretty good at not running up the score on people, however, this is the home opener.....it could get EXTREMELY ugly for App St, especially considering that Michigan has what they have on offense. I wouldn't be surprised to see Michigan put up close to 60, most of which by the 3rd quarter. I also would be surprised if App St scores more than once. Everyone has ripped the Michigan defense because of the losses they have had from last year's squad. This year's D has a lot to prove and a chip on their shoulder, which doesn't bode well for App St. Let's just say that if the spread is anything under 35, put money on it Michigan covers, no questions asked. I could see this one being a 59-3 beat down.
naydezy: App who? 1AA. Big ten front runner 5th in the nation i am sorry but there is no way i see app st going close
goodfellas: You must be smoking crack. You proved my point. They are Div. 1AA. Wich means theyre not even good enough to beat most D-1teams . So comaperd to a team like Michigan they suck. And comapred to alot of D-1 schools they suck. Im going to take a quote from the movie Waiting. Wow you won the D-2 championship congratulations thats like being the smartest kid with down syndrome!!!!!!!!!!! Grow up and realize that your pathetic team will never be able to hang with the big boys like Michigan.
JDR13: It will not be close.
natsfreak14: I am a huge Michigan fan, but also a realist. Let's not get carried away that Michigan will win by more than 60 points. Yes, it is a Big Ten powerhouse against a Div 1-AA team, but it is an awfully good one. They destroy everyone in a playoff system. Maybe Div 1A should have that. Michigan will definitely score in bunches, but i think it will be closer than some people think it is. Michigan will definitely win this game by more than 25. i would realistically think Michigan will win 55-16. I know that isn't close, but it is way closer than 100-0.
classof68: If Michigan does not air it out, the score will be respectable. But do not confuse this with the game ever being in doubt or with App. State playing at the same level as Michigan. Carr will likely use as many as 8 different running backs and 3 quarterbacks. It will be an opportunity for Michigan to look at a huge number of linemen and DB's while giving a bunch of freshmen their first taste of college football at game speed. The score will be closer than most people think. The game will not be.
flyers-michigan: You guys will probably get a field goal.
newman108: Just plain WEAK. If by "earn respect" you mean your first string outplays our 4th string....maybe. You earn respect on the field. When A. State is big enuff to play in a respectable confrence and be ranked in the top 15 year in-year out , you have the right to say something. Right now you are acting small time...........like your team. I just get sick of all these little bush-league division8 type teams talking smack. They can talk smack to the other teams in their conf. They have no right to say "we're gonna do this and that" when you are playing a team that is favored by 30+ points. They should be thankful they made a top ten program's schedules
hepps21: I am not sure how much national attention they will get considering the game is being televised on The Big Ten Network which can only be seen through certain cable carriers. They might get 20 seconds on SportsCenter but the highlights will be of UM's players not theirs. Michigan will win 44-6.
