Florida - Defense - Capital One Bowl was ugly.

Florida - Defense - Capital One Bowl was ugly.

Agreed. Even if Mike Hart doesn't fumble twice inside the 1-yard line or Henne throws a tipped interception Michigan hangs 21 more on them.

From all those choices, I say LSU. They still do have good returning players, but so much leadership and 4th or 5th year seniors left the team, so they'll probably have some younger guys step up. Georgia does have a difficult schedule, but look at Florida in 2006 and LSU last season - UF loses only once and wins the NC. LSU wins twice in two close games and wins the NC (also played, and blew out, #9 VT in OOC game). I think they have a better chance of winning the East because of a proven defense that led the SEC in sacks and stepped up big time the second half of the season.

Last I checked, coaches don't play the games. Don't you think 90% is a bit high?

90% is too high, but it speaks to the insight he's highlighting... you don't lose the architect of your program and rebound without incident.  Exhibit A: Louisville last season.

I voted for WVU, I'm not totally sold on the new coach and I thinkthe BE will better balanced this year. Just a gut feeling, but Icould be wrong.

I voted LSU, but only because they won the National Title last season, and I believe they'll only be the third best team in the SEC behind Florida and Georgia.  That said... it's got to be a testament to how your program's risen when you can make the Capital One Bowl and have it be a "down year."

Of the teams listed, I voted for LSU.  Goose already said what I might have said if I was as smart as Goose.  Replacing the leadership for LSU will prove to be tough this year.

My Mounties might get my 2nd vote.  I certainly believe in its leader (Pat White), but the replacements on the defensive side, and the playcalling of a first time OC have me a bit worried.

I voted for LSU...  Not b/c they're not a good program, but when you lose so much (not only are the losing great players, but they are losing the heart and soul of last year's championship team)... You don't replace the leadership of Hester, Dorsey, and Flynn... plus, I don't trust a red-shirt Freshman that has almost no experience or a kid that played at Harvard to light up SEC defenses.... sorry Knut... What Goose said!!!..I second that..

I notice Louisville is not mentioned. Just remember the Jimster, Jimmy Crack Corn, etc...mentioned Louisville.

With their QB issues I think LSU drops off the map.  West Virginia would be right up there, but with their cushy schedule they have a shot at the top 10.

Gator93,

Don't really disagree with your comments about UGA, except for the one about not beating Florida if Tebow had not been injured.  I am not objective as you might expect, but Georgia scored at will on your defense.  And remember, one of your touchdowns was on Stafford's bad throw from the endzone.  Otherwise, I think you are possibly right, although I certainly hope not.
