Who was 'forcing' Rich Rodriguez to sign this contract...WVU Administrators, or Don Vito Corleone and Luca Brasi?  Better get extra guards for your stable, coach!

How scared are the Michigan faithful with this idiot at the helm?  Go Blue?

You'll keep him for 2, possibly 3 seasons.  After that you will understand what WVU (not uwv) fans already know. After that Michigan and WVU fans will be friends.

As a Wisconsin alum and fan I'm happy to see that  Micigan got Rich Roddriguez as their new head coach.  I don't think that he brings with him the integrity that Lloyd Carr left with.

Now that's funny coming from a fan of UW, who's coach had a player try to break Steve Breaston leg, and he didn't nothing.... Karma came back and bit him in the a$$ last year... had a season/career ending injury!

trueblue69 what are you saying?  Racist coach?  Are you serious?  Coach Stewart's biggest supporter was and is our african american soon to be all american QB, Pat White.  People can suggest all they want to about how WVU (not uwv) handled this but anyone with any level of intelligence can see that RR is the bad guy in this situation.  Before you post ridiculous comments like that please make sure that you have the whole story.  Even though I am a WVU grad and lifelong fan I always had respect for Michigan beacuse of the Bo and Lloyd.  Your program just fell off of the radar screen with regard to integrity....  You can keep RR since no one else wants him... and you are welcome....

Smurph, well put.  I couldn't agree more that Michigan and WVU fans will be friends when this is all said and done and RR is no longer at the Michigan helm.  We will see him from a similar perspective.

Between the Lions and Wolverines i doubt michigan natives will be too upset when Rodriguez fills the team full of future prison inmates like he did at WV.  They might reinforce negative stereotypes and be dumber than a box of rocks but they can sure play football.

Because U of M can have the pick of the litter, they shouldn't have criminals on the team.  They should have academic all-americans as well as athletic all-americans.  If Michigan has any palyer resembling Chris Henry,  it is on RR completely.

His real day in court will come when he finds himself in the horseshoe surrounded by 100,000 Buckeyes. Good luck with that.

What a Putz Rodriguez is!  Poor little Richie........Looking for sympathy and saying he felt forced to sign, What, a 6 or 7 year, $14 Million contract?  Don't you feel fortunate that you never had to be forced to sign such a rediculous contract with your current employer?

I mean, what kind of Pusscateer is this guy?  As a Buckeyes fan, this just gets better all the time.  This guy is a complete joke and embarrassment.   I give Ram-Rod 3 years tops.

What's your over or under on the number of years RR stays at Michigan?  If I were putting the line down, it would be 3.

Ha Ha!  Three sounds like a pretty good bet to me as well!   Rodriguez can always become mayor of Detroit though, since he seems to have alot in common with the mayor they are trying to impeach up there!!  Corruption, greed, clandestine cell phone calls, etc.  He will fit right in and they will never miss a beat!  lol

In order for RichRod's argument to hold any water - he must have had an eye toward leaving before signing the contract if he was looking for assurances that the buyout wouldn't stick.  Which is exactly why the buyout is so stiff - the administration knew what they were doing and RichRod is wasting his breath trying to convince people otherwise.

Exactly! The $4M buyout was added when WVU renegotiated his contract after he almost left for Alabama. Let's not forget  that the $4M was for only one year. It would drop back down to $2M in August 2008. RR's problem is that he bolted less than 4 months after signing the new contract.
