I always admired her game before she came to Fort Worth to compete against the men, but I really admired her after her week at Colonial. She handled herself with class, played very well (almost making the cut), was very respectful of the game, bowed out gracefully after her one attempt ( which she earned after dominating the women's tour for a decade, unlike friggin Wie) at the mens game.
If Annika had really put her heart into it I think she could have made a cut in a men's event. She is a very smart player and if she had focused on it she would have been able to make a cut, but that was never her goal.
You are dead on she is a very classy person and I actually learned more watching her game than I ever did watching the PGA tour.
I don't know why everybody is down on women in mens events - I would love to see Annika, Ochoa or Gulbis break through in a mens event - Even if they did have to spot them 30 yards off the tee.
The women have to work harder, produce better golf shots and grind it out way more then the men do. Adjusted for distance, nobody on the PGA aside from MAYBE Tiger could compete with Annika or Ochoa - and I'd still bed on the girls.

Yea, I wouldn't mind seeing a few female defensive ends or maybe an offensive tackle or two. Get a few of those gals off the WWF to jump right in there and get their feet wet. Sounds like a good idea to me.
If so, I'm right there with you. Annika is the best. I'm bummed to hear about her retirement. What kind of BS is that? Retiring from golf? You're supposed to retire TO golf. WTF??
GO Annika. If you're ever out looking for husband #3, drop me a note.

Adjusted for strength, an ant is superior to all humanity and they definitely work harder and grind it out way more than us humans. That doesn't help it a bit when I step on it, however. No one is down on women in men's events, because they're not men's events. The PGA is for the best golfers in the world, and any gender that qualifies can compete. Likewise, the NBA, NFL, MLB, you name it. Not one says anything about having to be a man to compete. If a woman breaks through, then great, but there's a very good reason the LPGA, WNBA, etc. exist. It's because unadjusted for length, strength, distance, speed, you name it, women would be totally void of the opportunity to cash in on their athletic gifts.
