i took a gander at the preseason polls for next year and here's what i noticed...

Big XII has 6 teams in top 25... 5 in top 10! (Missouri squeezed it's way up past Kansas... which i think is pretty funny)

Texas Tech made an appearance at 22, and i don't remember the last time that they were ranked preseason... at least not the last two years i think

CBS has A&M at 44 and Oklahoma St. 2 steps below

I'm not sure if it's referring to next season or this last season, but it has TAMU's SOS at 1!! Ok St. at 3!!!  (so overall i think we did pretty good this year by keeping a winning record)

anyways, this all fairly irrelevant, but just thought i'd post it anyways

i'm looking forward to next year, eh?

How did we get SOS of 1? Isn't this the year we have all hard games except t.u. at home? Plus we won't play KU or MIzzou, so I'm a little confused. Who do we play OOC?

you're right about not playing KU or Mizzou... so i assume that it's referring to 2007 season SOS then...

i haven't been able to find a schedule for next year, so if you do, post it or something, i'm interested about who we play out of conference also

That strength of schedule is this year's because we have a much easier schedule next year. Toughest games will be OU at home and t.u. on the road.

I like this schedule. If the team adjusts to the new coaching stafff we have a real shot at going 10-2 or maybe even 11-1. I think the SOS would have to be talking about enxt year. Last I heard Okla State had the #1 SOS this year. (I could be wrong)

I don't know if I like this schedule, although it sounds reasonable to have "easy" OOC games the first year with a new staff. Will Miami be better or worse then they were last year? How will our new oline do? If the oline can do their job, and Sherman utilizes the talent of McGee, Goodson and Lane, and maybe that McKinney Boyd WR can make some plays, 11-1 or maybe even 12-0 is my guess. Can we beat OU? Because I know we can beat t.u. but I don't know what to say about our chances against OU.

What's the deal with texas being ranked #7 in the preseason polls. Colt mccoy sucks and so does their defense. They are losing jamaal charles and some big names on their defense.

I honestly couldn't make up my mind about what i thought of OU last season... it seemed like they didn't play quite as consistent as you would assume such a great program like themselves would...

i think that will spur some adjustments from last year and that they might even be a tougher team this next season...

playing OU... this is our highest hurdle this year, and jumping it is going to take a lot of spirit, dedication, blood, and sweat.

I look at next year's team much like I did heading into the Alamo Bowl.....I have absolutely no idea what to expect....

I think our offense will be just fine, but I would love to see the "wreckin crew" retrun to form.

We can definitly get 8 wins this year, although i'm with maggie i'm not sure what to expect. In the alamo bowl we started great but didnt make the necessary adjustments at half time. Although even if we arent great this year we should definitly win 8 or so. But just imagine if we did put together a good team, looking at our schedule we could get 10-11 wins.

I really like alot of the position changes that sherman is making, as much as i love lane if we want to be really productive in the running game goodson needs more carries. And jMcCoy will make a great tightend, also moving to a 4-3 will get featherston, and lewis in more at LB, they really are our best LB's. Anyways next year is something to be excited about, despite the new staff we have a very easy schedule which should make sherman look like a hero.

Your entire o-line just turned over... new coach = new system... lost star tight end (who was under utilized anyways) .... you guys sure are optomistic. Especially with Tech, OU and UT all getting stronger. Your North scheudle is very easy tho, so i can give you that.

Well, we will know a hell of alot more at the end of the non-conf games. Good luck.

I think we will do no worse than last year and with an easier schedule I think that means we should win atleast two more games.  I think two of the guys on o-line have starting experience so it is not like it is a totally unexperienced line.  Sherman should use our talent better and have a better disciplined team.  I think a tewo lose season is reasonable.  We should have no more than 3-4 loses by seasons end.  I can't wait to see how the season starts.

I think 11-1 or 10-2 is a little too much to ask of a new coaching staff with the least number of returning starters in the conference.  I'll be happy with a 7-5 or 8-4 record and a bowl WIN this year.  I'm sick of losing bowl games!

i think it would be a satisfying season if they finished 9 and 3 or 8 and 4 but they better get a bowl win or the season would definitely be a failure

I like seeing that you aggies have faith but really I see yall losing no less than 5 games. Teams that will more than likely beat yall and the reason why will be

Miami-Early season and they seem to do good against yall.

Ok State-Very good offense dont see yall out scoring them.

Tech-Great offense will have a defense this year and we have seemed to just have better luck or be better than yall and we can out score yall in a shoot off.

OU- just simply a better team.

Texas- will come for revenge. I hope yall win but i dont see it with how much emotion they will play with in this game.

Plus yall have a new coach it will take a few games at the least to get use to the style he has compared to fran.

But hey it is college fotball and i wish yall the best of luck this year with the new coach.
